Hi all,

1. I am going to meerut for further studies and have no idea where to shop cosmetics from in meerut.Can any body tell me about some places?

2. Also, I am a big online shopping person but i am afraid that it might be a problem if i am living in a campus, especially in a hostel, products may be misplaced and all.Has anybody done that girls???

let me know.I am so psyched about this.. 😛

    Jolly Shopping Centre in Sadar (Abu Lane) is one stop shop for all the makeup, beauty n skin care products. From herbals like Lotus, Khadi, VLCC, Shehnaz to regulars like Maybelline, Garnier, Lakme, Revlon, Loreal to Marks n Spencer, Body Shop, Victoria Secret, H2O et al u’ll find all of them under one roof!(I once found a Versace 3 lipstick pack over there, though i doubted the authenticity earlier but i just love the shades n get complimented every time i wear any one of those :haanji: )
    Also u can try Bindals’ at Abu lane Fountain Chowk for Revlon, Lakme etc.

    And would u be joining the University Campus cuz though these places are a lil far away from there, for regular toiletries etc. u can browse Central Market and Big bazaar (PVS Mall) both in Shastri Nagar (very near to the campus). If it is any other campus u r talking about do lemme know, i’m out at the roads shopping all the time so i know quite a lot of places all around the city!

    All the best for ur college life! A word of caution, Meerut campuses, unlike colleges elsewhere are not very safe to roam around in shorts etc., rest people here are very friendly n helpful..u’ve seen an example now..ahem..ahem!! :manicure: :whistle:

        1. Heyy! When u mentioned campus i straight away thought of CCS Uni Campus..and that’s why became a li’l concerned about my fellow IMBB lover!!

          Subharti area is pretty cool (last year there was a very cute guy in the basket ball team..don’t know if he’s still there :P)..out at the by-pass road the whole area has a lotta students and good dhaba food around..and its easy to commute to the main market area by frequent low floor buses..but for ‘branded’ shopping i would suggest to go to delhi as all the shopaholics in meerut do!

    You can shop for cosmetics from Jolly Shopping Centre in Sadar,Bindals in Abulane have Lakme,Revlon and Colorbar counters.
    For the second question-Your stuff should not get misplaced.You’ll get the stuff you order.
    Which college BTW?

    I am also from Meerut.. born and brought up in Meerut :happydance: :happydance:

    Which college are you going to study in?

    Anyway, to shop the best place is Jolly shoppe in Sadar Bazar. He keeps good collection. Else you can also go to Bindals at Abulane. Also at Abulane, you can go to Vardhman Complex and Ganpati Complex (these are very famous so every rickshaw wala knows about them) and there you get good stuff though its a lill expensive.

    About hostel, yeah parcels do get lost. But in that case you can check the system with your hostel. May be the hostel warden or guard collects the parcel. In that case it can be secured.

  5. Hey chhavi…I am also studying in college and staying in hostel only…and here there is no place you can go to get cosmetics …So I order online…and there have been n problems :dance: :dance: :dance: ….
    and P.s I shop online like crazy :haanji: :haanji: :haanji: …..I even get upto4-5 parcels :present: :present: almost every 2 days…. :shying: :shying: :shying: :shying: …..everything I see on IMBB,I feel like buying it all :stars: :stars: :stars: :stars:

    Even I study at Subharti University, Medical Student, 2011 Batch. 😉 And I’ve had a very VERY bad experience shopping in Meerut! I went all the way to DELHI to buy a new dress cuz I needed a new one for my batch party. :-/
    Yahaan kuch bhii nahin mila! 🙁
    But its not that bad really. They even have a (very poorly stocked) Benetton store here. Footwear ka bohot kuch mil jayega in Abu Lane.
    Also, storage is difficult. 🙁
    The hostel rooms are pretty ok but you get only one almirah! And that too a tiny one! :yuck:
    I store most of my stuff in bags and hide them underneath my bed. 😛
    But all of the major websites do send their stuff here, with COD, if you’re into online shopping.
    All in all, not bad. 🙂 I have a huge thing for luxury brand cosmetics and I’m pretty satisfied with all the online shopping. 🙂

    P.S.- Abu Lane will be a major disappointment. :-/ I come from a small town (Allahabad) but its SO much better than Meerut, shopping ke terms mein, which mind you, comes under the NCR region. :((

    I am also from meerut though working in pune and an avid and silent follower of IMBB . Wow it feel so great to see people from meerut on IMBB… ye ye :yahoo:
    Even i would like to recommend jolly centre they have almost all the decent brands with them and offcourse apart from that online shopping rocks !! :pompom: :pompom:

  8. Ahhh!! i didn’t know so many girls in Meerut follow IMBB ! I too got too excited to hear about my city here..
    Well, IMBB is a life saver when somebody else try to intimidate me with their make up skills.. Cuz that time i have loads to talk about!!
