Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Good Morning Retexturizing Primer Review

This is my first Elizabeth Arden skin care product. When I was hoarding wet tissues, sunscreens, oil-free makeup, sheet masks, etc., for summers, I realized I had missed out one of the essentials in order to keep makeup in place in this hot weather, and its primer! Yes, if you ask me now, I would say, if you have to keep your makeup on for long hours, invest in a good primer. Going through Elizabeth Arden products, I found a primer from the “Visible Difference” range. Here’s a little info about the product.
Product Description:
Skin can benefit from a wake-up call in the morning. Our retexturizing primer helps you put your best face forward with a proven blend of botanical boosters and Vitamin A. Skin instantly looks fresher and makeup goes on smoother.

Price:
Rs. 2420 for 15 ml.

My Take on Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Good Morning Retexturizing Primer:
At the counter, I was contemplating whether to go for this product or not, only 15 ml for Rs. 2420, but then I know so many celebrities vouch for Elizabeth Arden stuff and I wanted to try it for myself. First of all, I am not happy with the press-down function because while taking it out of the packaging, a slight push brings out the product. I wish they had some “turn to lock” function. The primer is an odorless, clear, slightly viscous gel-like product which goes smoothly on to the face. It feels a bit silky after I smooth it in. In the instructions, it is advised to apply this primer before using a moisturizer and I apply this primer before I use the Dramatically Different Gel by Clinique. Quite a bit is required to cover the entire face.
The ingredients list has a lot of extracts mentioned, for example, ginkgo biloba extract, magnolia biondii flower extract, morus bombycis root extract, avocado fruit extract, rosemary leaf extract, sage leaf extract, grapefruit extract, grapeseed extract, but then there are a whole lot of parabens also, i.e., butylparaben, ethylparaben, isobutylparaben, methylparaben, propylparaben. Then, there is dimethicone too.
Coming to the effectiveness, it really helps the makeup to stay long. I have seen that the foundation does not melt away quickly when I have used this primer. Face remains fresh for a longer period even in the hot weather. I have gone out a few times outdoors with this primer on and realized that I didn’t have to use wet wipes for a long time, say 4 to 5 hours. Oily skin like mine easily dulls down under the sun and no long-staying makeup helped so far, but this primer has. With your long-staying foundation, it would last all day I guess.
It does not dry out the skin or make it stretchy. Also, it didn’t break out my acne-prone, oily, and sensitive skin. As mentioned earlier, I have used it a couple of times while going out, and never had any adverse reaction. I have not seen any major effect on pore size, probably I don’t even understand whether the pores have reduced or not.
This does not have any SPF, but that’s not an issue at all for me.
I have not understood the term “retexturizing” because it does not help in improving skin texture over a period of time. I love using this primer and I will repurchase it because it helps makeup stay fresh for long without giving me acne. Thumbs up for this primer!
Summing up the pros and cons:
Pros of Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Good Morning Retexturizing Primer:
- A good quality primer that helps the makeup stay longer.
- Contains a whole lot of natural extracts.
- Lets the makeup stay fresh for a long time.
- Does not let makeup melt away.
- Did not cause acne on my oily and acne-prone skin.
- Goes smoothly on to the skin without leaving any oily residue on the surface of the skin.
Cons of Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Good Morning Retexturizing Primer:
- Quite a bit of amount is required for the entire face, I think I will finish this primer soon, after all its only 15 ml 🙁
- Contains parabens.
- I didn’t like the press-cap packaging, leads to product wastage if not careful.
- Price factor.
Will I Repurchase Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Good Morning Retexturizing Primer?
Yes, I will, its a superb product.
