While I was surfing online, I came across this unique technique called “body wrap” that is being used in spas in their detoxification and weight loss programs. I read through many articles and thought would summarize and let you also know what its all about. Body wraps are being used mainly to detoxify and also to take off the inches from the problem areas. Many wraps use bentonite and other clay, but we know all those clay material is not easy to find. I have stumbled across an easy body wrap technique using epsom salt and Ace wrap. The best thing is that you can do this in the comfort of your home if you can get hold of the ingredients and some Ace wraps.
I have showed here how to make a body wrap that detoxifies and helps in losing inches in two ways – one where you have Ace wrap and one without Ace wrap, using cling wrap instead.

Benefits of using Epsom Salt Body Wrap:
Epsom salt is basically magnesium sulfate (MgSO4), which is a pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate. Epsom salt has many benefits because it gets readily absorbed by the skin. Epsom salt is called “sendha namak” in Hindi. Epsom salt reduces inflammation and flushes out toxins from the body. Epsom salt replenishes the level of magnesium in the body and aids in better absorption of other essential nutrients.
We are using epsom salt here basically to detoxify body and slimming down.
Ingredients Needed:
- Epsom salt.
- Aloe vera juice or gel.
- Essential oil – I have used Eucalyptus oil here (its an essential oil, right?).
- Ace wrap or cling wrap.
Body Wrap Using Ace Wrap:
Boil 3 cups of water.
Add one full cup of Epsom salt. Mix it nicely so that the salt gets completely dissolved.
Add in a cup of aloe vera liquid.
Add 3 drops of Eucalyptus oil.
Soak Ace wrap or bandage in this solution and wrap around tightly around the problem area, let’s say the waist. Don’t wrap too tightly, otherwise, it may hinder with blood circulation.
Keep this on for one hour and remove the wrap. Do it once a week to detoxify and remove toxins. This body wrap also aids in losing inches from the problem area.
Some important tips to remember is to keep the body well hydrated. Drink large amount of water through the process.
Now, if you don’t have Ace wrap, check out this DIY where I have used cling wrap instead.
Body Wrap Using Cling Wrap:
Take a little amount water and heat till it becomes a little warm.
Dissolve half a cup of epsom salt into it.
Add in a few spoons of aloe vera gel or juice.
Break in four capsules of Vitamin E.
Mix in half a teaspoon of Eucalyptus or any other essential oil.
Rub this mix on to the problem area before it dries out and massage for 5 to 10 minutes.
Take a roll of cling wrap and roll it around 5 times tightly and let it remain for 1 hour.
Drink lots of water and rest during the hour. Take it off and wipe gently with a wash cloth.
I felt detoxified doing it and its really good that it helps relax. I would have to continue doing it over the weeks to notice the inch loss, will update here 🙂
I am so happy to have shared with you all my little discovery. All of you can try and let me know how it worked for you.
P.S.: If you have any underlying disease condition such as liver, blood clotting, magnesium or sulfate allergy, kidney disease, or if you are on dialysis, please do NOT attempt it. If possible, consult your doctor before doing this body wrap.

Epsom salt is NOT sendha namak…
sendha namak is NaCl + Himalaya minerals
Epsom salt is Magnesium Sulphate…
Epsom salt is magnesium sulphate.
Sendha namak is rock salt.
Although both have different mineral contents,
they are good for body wraps.
You can find good quality Epsom salt on eBay from green junction.
Their quality is the best.
