Hi ladies,
This is my first entry to the ‘IMBB Most fashionable Summer Look Contest’. Well, I am not really a very ultra modern fashion girl. I think fashion is something that you can comfortably wear in any situation. And honestly, roaming around in hot pants or short dresses is neither good nor a feasible idea in a conservative city like Kolkata .
It is an unofficial yet widely accepted saying that a Bengali girl looks best in a saree. I do not often wear saree, but I love to do so.This is a kind of dress that you can wear to almost everywhere – office, college, seminar, even party. My favourite (most Bengali’s favourite) saree is ‘Taant’ saree. Taant sarees are light, comfortable and elegant.
I am wearing a light blue Taant saree that actually belongs to my Maa. I love to wear saree when I’m going out with my boyfriend for a lunch or a dinner; or I’m going to an art exhibition or a movie; or in a family occasion. So, here I am with a simple everyday look in a Taant saree.
Saree: light blue taant saree, Price: rs.1100
Accessories: pearl necklace and tops. Price: around rs.500
Bangles: mixed colour silk thread bangles. Price: rs.10 each.
I don’t like wearing lots of makeup. It is highly impractical wearing them during the hot and super humid summer of Kolkata unless you are in an AC room, which is not always possible. And I have an almost dark circle and spot free skin. *touchwood* So I don’t really have to apply foundations or concealers. 😀
Face:
Fabindia tea tree toner. Rs. 125
Maybelline whitestay UV compact. Rs.150
Street wear smoothwear blush in Pink Blossom. Rs.215
Eyes:
Lakme kajal. Can’t recall the price.
e.l.f. eye pencil. $1
maybelline colorplush silk eyeshadow in Sapphire siren. $8
Lips:
Nivea tinted lipbalm. Rs.120
I would wear a flat sandal with this attire.
So, this is my first look. I might look like an idiot. But remember, this is my first attempt to make an entry to a fashion contest. 😛 I would be coming up with another entry soon. 🙂
