I tried going the bleaching route with my elbows and knees, but gave up after after a few futile attempts.
A few months ago I read somewhere, perhaps in a magazine or blog, that dark elbows and knees are a sign of dry skin. So I started moisturizing regularly as these parts were often neglected and also tried to put some petroleum jelly on before I went to bed.
This definitely lightened and softened the skin for me.
Hope that helps.. π
hi…
make a mix…rose water ,lemon juice and glycerin in ratio of 3;2;1..and keep it in ur bed side drawer…and apply it every nite on elbows and knees…..or even feet….initially it will be a liitle sticky, but eventually the solution will dry in 15 min….then enjoy ur sleep and wash off next morning…..
wht does it do…
lemon juice lightens, rosewater soothes and glycerin moisturises…..hain na 3 in 1
and one more thing make only that much mix that can last u only fr a week…and then make a fresh mix…..
added bonus…u can keep it in fridge to enhance its shelf life and have a cool lotion to apply…
try it…this method is slow but …..it really works…
I’ve tried lemon on the armpits and it does works but you should use it regularly I think,
does anyone knows how often? I just tried it a couple of times and everytime I do I notice that the skin turns a little bit lighter. Is this harmful in any way? I also read that curd would help, haven’t tried it yet though.

Wow I was about to write the exact same remedy (rose water+glycerin+lemon juice). In my family we use it every winter because it is amazing! Make sure it’s no more than 2 parts glycerin though because its really heavy and too much can be pore clogging. Oh and during the extra dry season, where it feels like no amount of moisturizer is helping, use this as a night treatment. Just apply it on your face with a cotton pad before bed and prepare for insanely soft skin in the morning! I do this like once a week despite the weather and it works really well for me. I think it can be used every day for dry skin π just make sure the glycerin is well diluted. I’ve seen people apply pure glycerin on their faces and then ending up with severe breakouts. But in this recipe the rose water and lemon balances the glycerin out perfectly π
I have always used lemon to lighten my elbows . I sometimes use the lemon rind after using the juice for cooking, and rub it for 3-5 mins and then wash it up after 15 mins. I use Freemans pomegranate sugar body scrub to exfoliate my elbows once a week. π

I agree with Devika. A regular scrubbing-moiturizing routine is the only thing that seems to help..and its a slow process, at least for me!

Try slathering on Petroleum Jelly on the elbows.. Then scrub thr elbows with a good body brush during bath.. Follow up with body butter..
Apply sunscreen regularly..
Lemon juice and Tomato juice contain citric acid which is a natural bleaching agent.. But it should not be used more than thrice a week.
Hope it helps. π π

more on my legs and knees a bit. Also on my arms but
not on the darker areas.
