Here are some photos from the South Indian Wedding I attended recently. It was a Malyali wedding and I loved how sorted and short it was. Although the bride had to change her saree thrice within a span of 2 hours but it was not tiring and exhaustive for the people attending it. It was a close friend’s wedding and I enjoyed every bit of it. Here are my wedding and reception outfits.
This was my day outfit. I wanted to keep makeup and outfit quite understated. And I am glad I did. It was a very simple day wedding so everyone was quite subtly dressed except the heavy dose of gold going across the wedding hall. 😀 I tied my hair on the side.
Because of some crisis, I did bride’s makeup for both wedding and reception. I don’t want to blow my own trumpet but everyone, starting from the photographer till the mother-in-law of the bride, complimented me for the bride’s makeup. I was soooooo happy. 🙂

Reception Outfit
And this is my reception outfit. It is a cream and black anarkali. The material is gota, silk and chiffon. There are thread work flowers on suit. There is a net dupatta with silk border with golden black embroidery done.I paired it with a gorgeous haath phool by Eina Aluwalia and random jewelry I picked up fro different places. I did black smokey eyes for the evening with a soft milk-tea lips to go with it.
And this was Sanjeev’s reception outfit. 😀 He wore jacket, jeans and shirt for the wedding.
And this is both of us together. 🙂 It was a great reception. We danced so much. Loved meeting all my friends after ages. Don’t know when will I get to see them again. 🙁

Both the outfits are super gorgeous and you are looking awesome in both. I always associate ethnic wear with bling and riot of colors. But your outfits prove it wrong that it too can be understated. I will keep this in mind when I next shop for ethnic wear 🙂
And oh ya the makeup!! Wow…please mujhe sekha do…recently tried eyeshadow for a function and it did not come out that well 🙁 Can you please suggest one neutral color pallete for eyeshadows available in India 🙂

Had fun, Banaglore though was a mixed ride but it was a very emotional trip overall. i’d write about it on faux pas today. We roamed around at mg road, church gate, brigade road and ub city. Oh st marks road too. We were putting up at royal orchid hotel in manipal centre (this one : http://www.royalorchidhotels.com/royal-orchid-central-Bangalore/overview.asp) . That needs a special mention too. :))

oh Rati u brought back lotsa memories.!When i was with jet airways i was stationed at banglaore for a while n i stayed there.!hands down its one of my fav hotels …stayed there 5 days a week for 2 yrs !dont know if the same ppl r stil around but the staff at tht hotel was awesome !
Did u go to the fifth floor lounge in dat hotel?u get the most beautiful view of the golf course and the airport runway !we were so horrible that we actually used to see flights land n then leave for airport for reporting for our flights teehee
the staff totally made the trip shwetha. They were fab!!! we went to the 10th floor. They dont have anything on 5th floor as yet! actually there are 3 royal orchids in bangalore. Dont know which one are you talking about. We stayed at the manipal centre one. 🙂

but overall i feel ppl in bangalore are a dignified and a sweet lot…i feel more at home in bangalore than in mumbai!
Awesome so you did explore all my fave places :))) you mean church street 😛 there’s a bookshop there called Blossoms, and one called magazines, where they have their own pet cats roaming around in the store, it’s adorable. St Marks has some of the best places – Egg Factory and the Hard Rock Cafe 😀 glad you enjoyed!!! Oh I saw this hotel once when I was researching but wasn’t sure of it, thanks!! 🙂

Both outfits are gorgeous, the pink is so pretty and the black so striking! Yes mallu weddings are over in a trice, and in fact if you’re originally from North Kerala like I am, you don’t have to do the saree change even.
