Last December, I went to Kolkata and visited the Inglot store at Forum mall. I had heard so much about Inglot, but never had the good luck of visiting the store. I had already read many reviews of Inglot cosmetics on IMBB, and had made a list of lipstick and eye shadow shades I wanted to buy. To my dismay, I could not find any of them, as all of them were out of stock. So, I started swatching the lipstick testers they had, and bought two of them (Remember, I can never buy one). Today, I am reviewing the first Inglot lipstick I bought. It does not have a name, just a number…#124.

My Experience: These lipsticks come in a box packaging, inside which is a very sleek and sophisticated looking black case of lipstick. The cap slides easily over the bullet, but does not shut with a click. I carry it easily in my bag, and it has never made a mess.

I picked up this shade #124 and another one, which I will review later. I really hate calling this “number 124”. They should have really named it something. Anyways, this a very creamy lipstick in Coral to Orange shade. It is quite bold and is richly pigmented….one swipe on the lips and you are done. It is very opaque, and will easily cover any pigmented lips.

For daily day wear, I first apply some lip balm over my lips, then do the rest of my makeup. At the end, when my lips are soft and hydrated, I apply just one swipe of the lipstick….It leaves a pretty soft coral color on my lips without looking loud at all.

For an evening out, I usually directly apply on my lips…1-2 swipes gives a bold enough color. For a full out and out glamorous party, I apply 2-3 swipes of the lipstick, wait for 5-10 minutes for it to set, then top it up with a colored lip gloss. It looks lovely any way you decide to wear it.

Being creamy, it does not sit on the lip lines much. It leaves a glossiness over the lips when first applied, but the glossy part goes off in 10-15 minutes, leaving a lovely sheen. Even after a heavy meal, the sheen is gone, but around 70% of the color remains intact as a lovely stain. The color fades very evenly; and looks extremely pretty. The stain remains on the lips for a long time, till you actually remove it with a remover.

This lipstick makes the lips feel very comfortable. It does not have any shimmer at all. But after some time, I have noticed my lips tend to get dry; which can be remedied if you apply a lip balm first.

It is transferable, so please blot it with a tissue first if you want to avoid that. It is very soft and creamy, but does not melt on my lips or inside the tube. It does not bleed or feather at all.This is one lipstick which I can definitely say that it looks very good even after fading to a stain

Will I repurchase Inglot lipsticks?

Yes, but some other shade. I still have the list of unavailable products with me, so will check them out next time I visit the store. People looking for bold Coral/Orange color should definitely check out this shade. It will suit most of the warm skin tone people, but please do check it out in store.This is one lipstick, which you can improvise a lot….and wear it as you want it depending on the occasion. It is a perfect shade for an evening out…..and will make you look very sophisticated indeed.
