My Experience with L.A. Girl Bliss Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in a shiny black and gold packaging. The lipstick is very sleek and I really love sleek packaging. The black and gold combination looks really classy too. The lipstick twists up and down with a click and when you get to the very bottom, it kind of locks it in place. It has a tiny tube that actually opens and it contains the lipstick! Nice surprise, isn’t it? This makes it easier to identify which shade is inside. I really love the packaging and it is travel friendly too.

Color/Pigmentation:  “Bliss” is a very pretty pink shade with slight purple undertones. I have had many pink lipsticks but this one is very different from the rest. The purple undertone sets it apart from the rest. It looks so gorgeous on the lips! I’ve always shied from pink lipsticks thinking they don’t suit me much, but lately, all I’ve been wearing is pink and this one is a perfect new addition to my little pink lipstick collection. This is a very good everyday sort of pink shade and would flatter most skin tones. The pigmentation is buildable. I just need only one coat of it on a daily basis because I prefer it that way. You would need around 2-3 coats for full on pigmented lips.

Texture: The texture of this lipstick is pretty balmy and a bit waxy. I really love this texture because it is extremely comfortable on the lips. You feel as if you’ve applied lip balm on your lips. It goes on very smoothly on my lips. The lipstick is very creamy and I love the formula. If only they had incorporated the same creamy formula in their lip glosses! How I wish they’d have done that! Anyway, the texture is very light and you barely feel it on your lips. The lipstick doesn’t feel heavy even after layering several coats. It doesn’t settle into a 100% matte finish, but gives a nice soft matte finish. It is moisturising and also hydrating to a certain extent.

Staying Power: Since it is so creamy and smooth, and slightly waxy too, the staying power isn’t much. It will fade drastically after a meal. I went out for dinner wearing this and forgot to carry the lipstick with me. By the time I am done, the lipstick pretty much fades away. There is only about 20-30% pigment left, but it does fade evenly. But I really don’t mind the low staying power because it is so moisturising on my lips.
