Today I’ll be reviewing a beautiful shade called Carmine Kick from the Crème range of 9 to 5 lipsticks. I bought this sometime ago along with loads of other stuff; let’s know more about it.

My Take on Lakme 9 to 5 Creaseless Crème Lipstick – Carmine Kick:
Packaging: The packaging is gorgeous. Any girl would get wooed by the rose-gold tube that comes with an outer carton which I found satisfying. The cap is sturdy and shuts with a satisfying click; it can be tossed into handbags without worries. But the cap of mine is a bit hard to remove and it gets stuck. The shade name is written at the bottom. I wish there was a color code thing that would’ve been beneficial.
Shade: Carmine Kick is actually a beautiful deep maroon. From the bullet it looks very intimidating but it sure was a relief when I swatched it. It is a bold shade and very wintery. I was skeptical if I’d be able to wear it or not but I fell in love with it eventually. This is definitely not for the light-hearted.
Texture and pigmentation: The texture is just like other crème lipsticks; it is very smooth and doesn’t tug. But it does highlight dry patches very much. It does make fine lines appear less. The pigmentation is really lovely. In one swipe you almost get the full color depending on the pressure with which you apply. Also it is very easy to go wrong and make mistakes so a lip brush is a total must. It does tend to go away from the lip lines so a lip liner is required.
Lasting power: It stays for a good 5 hours with sipping only water. It survives light snacks but transfers heavily. I really don’t like seeing lipstick on cups and spoons; this being a dark one tends to get noticed which is embarrassing. I did not find it that drying even though my lips are dry at the moment. It smells like the typical 9 to 5 lipsticks and it tastes slightly bitter. Other than that I have no issues with this and I totally love it.

This shade is definitely a no for the light-hearted. For those who can pull this off, this is a total must-have.
