Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict – Orange Candy

By Nikhita Mehta

Hi girls, how are you all doing? I am still finding it hard to work post the extended Diwali weekend :P. So, I was on a searching spree for an awesome orange lippie for a long time, I found this one in the gloss addict range and name itself heaved me towards it. The color looked amazing and plus the hydrating part was what I needed for my chapped lips.

Let us find out it how it looks on me!

Rs. 800 for 4 ml

Join the gloss revolution! Get addicted to the best of both worlds – Incredible hi-shine of a liquid lip-gloss& one stroke application of a lipstick. Introducing Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict: Created by backstage Experts at Lakmé Fashion Week for Runway-Ready lips in 15 Glamorous Shades!

It comes in a sleek black packaging with a transparent cap, which allows you to take a peek at the shade easily. The cap however is not up to the mark, it needs to be handled with a little care or chances of breakage are high. Overall, I quite liked the black finish, which accentuated the beautiful shade they come in.

My take on Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Orange Candy:

Let’s start with saying that I quite liked the lippie inside the tube and color looked beautiful! It sure does have a glossy finish and does not dry out my lips, it gives a balm like texture which helps in providing moisture. The sheer lipstick helps you in a achieving a gloss-like consistency without being sticky (I do not like flyways sticking on my lips while wearing a gloss). It does not feel heavy on me even with multiple swipes. My hubby quite liked the color on me, this gives a nice and fresh appearance and is easily wearable while you are at work. If you are looking for a natural look with not much color then this is a good option. One swipe gives you a neutral look and tint of orange and the color builds up in 3 – 4 swipes. You get the sheen and hydration both with this product.
The disappointing part of this lipstick was that the color did not build up on my lips as expected. I was not impressed with the pigmentation at all, this is nowhere near the shade in the bullet. I was hoping for a more orangey shade to show up. The color is very light and gives you absolutely no coverage, which might be troublesome for dark/pigmented lips. The consistency is more like a balm and not a lipstick. One can easily find this texture in a tinted lip balm at a lesser cost. The staying power is not good, it stayed on me for 2 – 3 hours without meals and could not even survive a small meal. It transfers on almost everything.

The quantity is less compared to the price tag it has! The downside is that it accentuated the flakes on my lips, which did not look good at all. You might need to prep your lips before applying this if you have flakey ones like me.

My final verdict would be a big NO! There are multiple sheer lipsticks available in the market for a lesser price tag, spending 800/- on this is not necessary.

Pros of Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict – Orange Candy:

• Gloss-like finish.
• Didn’t dry out my lips.
• Does not feel heavy after multiple swipes.

• Easily available.

Cons of Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict – Orange Candy

• Pigmentation could have been better.
• Did not justify the price tag.
• Won’t show up on dark or pigmented lips.
• The cap is prone to breakage.

Will I repurchase Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict – Orange Candy ?

Do I recommend Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Orange Candy?

No, you can easily find this texture and consistency in any tinted lip balm without burning a hole in your pockets. The only thing is that it has a glossy finish in a lipstick.
