I think my love for reds has gone overboard now and people at Lakme surely know this because when I ordered three shades from their new “Absolute Matte Sculpt” series, I got three similar shades with three different names. I mean was the same shade packed by mistake in three different bullets with different names, Urgghhhh!! I had to tell this to you ladies, so please don’t make this mistake. I have already reviewed Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick in Red Rush and Plum Spell is pending, but if you compare all these three reviews, you would feel that I am using the same lipstick. Trust me, I am so duped 😛
This lipstick has the exact same packaging of Absolute range lipsticks. It comes in a silver metallic cylinder housed in a transparent tube. The cap is transparent and hence color identification is easy. The cap opens and shuts with a twist and does not open automatically, thus making it very travel friendly. The bullet comes out with a twist mechanism and that too with a click, hence one has to twist the lipstick or else it won’t come out. This lock and twist system is very unique and new.
Lakmé Absolute’s latest range of high definition Sculpt lipsticks has arrived! One stroke of contoured perfection is all you need to get a chiseled, long wear experience with a rich matte finish. Available in 15 dramatic shades (the brightest shades so far in the Absolute range), Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick is your go-to professional product that provides nothing less than an expert finish.
My Experience with Lakme Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi Definition Matte Lipstick in Crimson Touch:
Crimson Touch is a dark red color with blue undertones. As I said earlier, the swatches of Red Rush and Plum Spell are exactly same as Crimson Touch with a difference of brightness probably. This one too is a matte shade, but finish wise, I feel it ranks much below than the other reds from this collection. Crimson Touch has a soft and creamy texture and application is smooth too. With this particular shade, I noticed that if the lips are not exfoliated, then the overall look of the lipstick is very flaky. Also, this one settles into the lines and accentuates them.
No doubt these matte lipsticks dry out the lips. Crimson Touch has great pigmentation and color is buildable to darker tones eventually. It stays on pretty well for 4-5 hours, but I have noticed that after 2-3 hours of application, it gives a very dry look. All the three shades that I have now would look dewier if a bit of transparent gloss is applied over the top. I am really not a lip gloss person as I feel a lot of dust gets accumulated on the lips, but for these shades, I wouldn’t mind trying. When this color fades away, the fine lines on the lips get more prominent. I really don’t like this part about it. Also, it definitely transfers, but not as prominently as Red Rush and Plum Spell from this range. Using a lip liner is advisable. It’s not waterproof either.
See, you now do you understand what I meant by being duped? Although all the three shades are same, they all have different pros and cons. I really thought I am buying different shades, but nevertheless, I will have to gift them to my friends as I would definitely not be able to finish all three anytime soon.
