I picked up some newly-launched products recently and today, I am reviewing one such product – Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Compact with SPF 40. Read on to know more about this new compact from Lakme.
INR 210 for 7 gm.
My Experience with Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Compact SPF 40:
Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Compact SPF 40 comes in a bright, yellow-coloured carton pack. The compact also comes in a bright yellow coloured packaging. It is packed in a single compartment round case with mirror and a sponge. The sponge and the powder are separated by a thin plastic film. The packaging is neat and cute plus handy. It is very sleek which makes it apt for travelling or carrying around in your bag for touch ups.
The product comes in a universal shade which claims to suit every skin tone. It gives me a fresh and bright complexion. Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Compact SPF 40 claims to have the goodness of sunscreen in a makeup compact. Lakme says it provides high coverage layer on the skin, which in turn provides protection from harmful sun rays. It has SPF 40 to protect UVB rays and PA +++ to protect from UVA rays. Honestly, I doubt it. I use this compact to mattify my sunscreen and this way, I think it works better.
I have fair to wheatish skin tone and it works pretty well for me as it doesn’t leave any white cast on the face. It is good for all skin tones as it basically just acts as a setting powder or you can use it as your everyday face powder.
It provides light coverage, which is nice for regular, everyday looks. It cannot hide any spots or pigmentation. The compact powder feels so smooth on the skin and blends well with a brush. It provides decently soft and smooth skin. It also adds a fresh and bright glow. Also, it has a nice floral fragrance. Still, I would say that it works pretty well for me, but if you have dry skin, then you need a moisturizing base. It might highlight your dry flakes too. I use it to set my eye area and T-zone. It works well for me, but again, if you have dry skin or apply extra layers, then it will leave a white cast. Otherwise, a normal light hand application provides a fresh, silky and matte finish that lasts long. It helps prevent creasing as well. I can use it even on my bare face to make my skin look fresh and bright.
This compact stays on for around 4-5 hours and keeps my skin shine-free for long. It never creases or settles into fine lines. It keeps my skin fresh and smooth for long. Overall, according to its affordable price, it is definitely a decent product for coming summers.
This compact has SPF 40, but that alone cannot keep skin protected from sun damage.
