Lip Liner for Pigmented Lips : Ask IMBB

Ask IMBB Gang

Sonu Asks:

I have pigmented lips and am on a lookout for a nude lipliner. Any suggestions? Also, can a nude lipliner be used with any shade of lipstick–or is it better to buy matching lipliner with each lipstick?

Thanks!

  1. You can definitely buy a matching lipliner for every lipstick…I don’t think it’s essential or money-wise practical, at least for me. While I do have a couple of lipliners, if I had to have only one, I would prefer a nude lipliner. By nude, I mean a lipliner that is most similar to your natural lip colour…that to me is a nude/natural. For me, Avon Glimmerstick lipliner in Mystery Mauve works well as a nudish liner – not that my lips are the exact same colour..but this kind of makes them look naturally evenly pigmented. I am not sure about what would suit you…but I hope I gave you an idea what to look for 🙂

  2. Sonu, I don’t think you need to buy lip liners matching with every lipstick…..you can find versatile shades that go with many lipsticks

  3. personally if I had to buy a lipliner, i would prefer a slightly darker shade so that the shape of the lips is more defined. and like Jomol and Rads said, there is no need to buy a matching lipliner for every lipstick. a Nude lipliner works really well too so if you are more comfy with that go for it.. :waytogo:

  4. Hi Sonu,
I have 3-4 lip liners but for others i use the lip liner brush and draw a line with the lipstick colour and then fill in the lipstick. works best..

  5. Or, you can use a brush to line your lips with the very lipstick you will then apply on the lips. That way, you have a matching lip liner to every lipstick. Lip brush application makes lipcolor last longer and fade evenly and prevents bleeds too.
