L’Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick Sheer Plum

Whoever said that females had it easy while working, should be thrown into the financial department of a multinational (literally, I say), every due date, which, by the way crops up every now and then in the form of a deadline. Quite a different intro today, isn’t it? But then, my life is quite different nowadays, with me being back to office for too many deadlines, and lack of man power, which ultimately resulted in an SOS call from office. 😛

Anyway, setting the office woes aside, let us quickly come to the product that I am reviewing today, L’oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lip Color, in the shade Sheer Plum. This range has been raved by blogs around the world, so I had to buy a shade to test the hype for myself *hihi* . So, I went ahead and placed the order for two shades, this and maple mocha, which by the way has turned out to be a staple in my vanity, and a perfect MLBB shade, after a long time.

L’oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lip Color – Sheer Plum, comes with a hefty price tag of Rs. 899/- .

Description :
A lipstick that delivers intense moisture while providing a velvet matte finish. Colour Riche Moisture Matte’s unique formula contains jojoba oil for unrivaled moisture and comfort along with matte gel technology to create an intense matte look.

Velvet matte gel technology is combined with deep pigments and Jojoba oil to give a deep colour pay-off, maintaining ultimate moisture and comfort.

New Light Illum complex delivers a rich matte color:

The packaging is a very classy gold, very much like we would expect a L’oreal lippie at this price to be, with a button like square in the middle, indicating the shade inside.

My Experience with L’oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lip Color – Sheer Plum

I am a sucker for all the shades, which are on the soft nude side, but have a pop of color, so that it does not make the face look dull. In fact, for anyone who would hear me on the matter, I would go on and on about my love for Lakme 9 to 5 Coffee Command, my only problem with it being it’s dry texture, which made reapplication a bit tedious, if the lips were chapped.

As soon as I read Neha’s review of the maple mocha shade, I knew that I just had to buy at least two shades from this range, only the price held me back. Then out of nowhere, I got a coupon of 400 off and I immediately placed an order for two shades, sheer plum and maple mocha. And boy! Am I glad? This is the best texture in lipsticks that I have come across in my two years of being a makeup and beauty junkie, literally.
First of all, let’s talk about the shade. The shade sheer plum looks way too dark and scary in an aunty kind of way. If you can’t understand what I am trying to imply here, take a look at the pictures. The shade in the bullet looks way too dark. However, as soon as you swatch it on your wrist, it turns out to be a warm plum, with pink tones. A really beautiful shade which will suit all the skin tones alike. On lips, it comes out even lighter. However, the best part is, no matter how natural and sheer this shade might seem to be, you can layer it up in two three swipes to get an opaque but natural warm plum finish, which will give a pink glow to your lips and face, especially those with warm undertones.

The texture of the lipstick is true to its name, moist and matte. It is so buttery soft and feather light on your lips that you tend to forget that you might have applied something. However, I will recommend exfoliation and supple lips, before application, as it is a bit dry, although not as much as Lakme 9 to 5 range (which I love by the way 😛 ). The texture of this range, is just too good, the best that I have come across, in fact.

The staying power is good, it survives tea and snacks easily. However, it fades considerably after a meal, and touch up is required. But with tea and light snack, it stays up to good 5 to 6 hours, with minimal fading, and a beautiful natural and opaque MLBB tint to lips.

Summing Up :

Pros of L’Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick Sheer Plum

• Amazing butter soft and feathery light texture
• Beautiful and unique warm plum shade, which will suit all skin tones.
• Intensity of colour can be increased and decreased to personal liking
• Opaque but natural coverage in a few swipes
• Classy Gold packaging, with a button to identify shades easily
• Long staying power, thus excellent for office goers
• Easily available

Cons of L’Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick Sheer Plum

  •  The price. Really? 899? Oh L’Oreal!! Why do thou do this to me  *cry*
  • Can be too sheer for some
  • Slightly drying for dry lips

IMBB Rating : 4.8/5 Really I just cannot think of any other short coming apart from the hefty price tag. Ladies, this is one lippie on which you should splurge. Because “It’s worth it” 😀
Yesssss! I do recommend! It will pinch your pocket, but you will love it.
