Skin Tone: Fair to medium
L’Oreal had come up with some CC balms quite a while ago and I tried “Cupid Peony” quite a while ago. I pretty much liked it, so planned to pick up a few more shades. And here I am, with a gorgeous shade from the CC range called “Midnight Rouge.”

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris 709 Midnight Rouge CC Genius Balm:
Packaging: The genius balm has a silver base with the colour of the balm on the top. It has a color-coded packaging and that makes it easier to spot if you have more than one in your collection. I really liked the variety of shades that they have added in this range. You would surely find a few colors to your liking. The shade name is also written at the base, but it’s not very much visible. The cap closes with a click.
Shade/Pigmentation/Finish: The shade “Midnight Rouge” is a perfect name for this gorgeous deep cranberry red shade. It is somewhere between a deep red and maroon, but with a lot of balminess that makes the shade a bit subtle on the lips. The shade looks very natural on the lips and is a great shade for people who want to hydrate their lips every day, but still want a bright pop of colour on the lips.
The shade is suitable for all the skin tones and age groups as well. It is a pretty deep reddish maroon shade, but it appears slightly subtle on the lips than what it looks like in the bullet. I love how it makes my lips look so natural and cute! The pigmentation is really good for a balm. It has the pigmentation of a lipstick and the shine and glossiness of a lip balm. It has a buttery consistency which keeps my lips hydrated throughout. It gives my lips a balmy finish which makes my lips look healthier and fuller.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good for a buttery lipstick. It stays on its own for more than 4 hours, but if you have a meal or keeping drinking water, then this might come off partially and then you would require a touch-up. It does not come off completely because after 4 hours, it leaves a bright coral pink shade that makes my lips look healthy. It transfers a lot due to its buttery texture and also settles a bit n the fine lines. Overall, super cute ones to have in the stash!
