Apart from the founders, the editors of IMBB are doing a fabulous job. Jomol, Neha and Era treat you so well despite the fact that IMBB is on the giving end. The tridevi’s keep the blog active 24/7, comment on posts and come-up with compilation of very useful posts. They even don’t tamper our articles, just polish them. Thank you endlessly for putting me up here always.
Today’s review is from the famous L’Oral Paris Elvive range. Usually, their shampoos, conditioners and oils show decent performance for my dry, damaged, thin hair. But I don’t know what to write for this review.
ELVIVE Anti-Breakage Repairing Shampoo with Ceramide-Cement reinforces hair from root to tip. It targets damaged areas to fill in gaps and seal damaged hair fibres.
Aqua, sodium laureth sulphate, disodium cocoamphodiacetate, dimethicone , cetyl alcohol, hydroxystearyl ether, cocamide mipa, citric acid, sodium chloride, beneyl alcohol, sodium methyl paraben. $4 for 250 ml; made in France
The shampoo comes in the typical L’Oreal Elvive bottle, with flip open cap that snap shut tightly. It is sturdy and travel friendly. The bottle is of chrome yellow colour. It comes only in one size; no smaller bottle available for trial purpose.
My take on L’Oreal Paris Elvive Anti-Breakage Repairing Shampoo:
Shampoo is milky white with creamy texture and ideal consistency. It lathers rich but still rinses off easily ensuring proper cleaning of the scalp. It makes my hair detangle easily but nothing more than that. My hair are already dry and damaged and this dries them further by depleting moisture from them. My hair feel dry and rough. It doesn’t make hair soft or shiny either, a total dull effect after wash. Hair feel frizzy too. Only a good conditioner every time after I do the shampoo makes my hair acceptable. Coming to the anti-breakage claim, that is totally false; I haven’t noticed any betterment in hair breakage. Let me make myself clear that this review is solely based on my personal opinion. This product didn’t work for my hair type, but may work for healthier hair because L’Oreal is a trusted brand.
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Elvive Anti-Breakage Repairing Shampoo:
• Cleans scalp, lathers rich, rinses easily.
• Easily available.
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Elvive Anti-Breakage Repairing Shampoo:
• SLS, Parabens and long list of chemicals!!!
• Makes my hair dry, rough and frizzy.
• No extra shine to hair.
• False anti-breakage claim.
I hesitate a lot while writing about duds! This simply didn’t work for my dry damaged hair so I won’t recommend it to people with hair like that. No repurchase at all.
