MAC In The Groove Collection – MAC Hang Loose Mineralize Blush
MAC Hang Loose Mineralize blush came with MAC In the Groove Collection. Actually I was traveling when the collection was released so received my products even later.
Anyway MAC Hang Loose Mineralize blush is a duo of two cool shades – dolly pink colour and pale lavender shade.
Mineralize blushes or eye shadows are very delicate, a little mishandling breaks them into pieces. 🙁 Since mine came by courier, it got broken. I also received a mineralize eyeshadow trio but thankfully that didn’t break.
This is for the first time anything from my makeup collection has broken. It breaks me heart to see it in such a condition. but anyway, after the review, I am going to crush both the shades nicely with a spoon, transfer then to separate jars and use them loose. 🙂
Regarding the shades : The pink is a dolly pink shade with slight sheen, it’s mostly matte but it has soft sheen to it. The lavender is very light lavander shade with high silvery sheen to it. It’s more silver than lavender.
The funny part is the both the shades just don’t show on me. 😛 Both the colours are very cool toned and they completely contradict with my yellow undertones. When I wear pink alone, it doesn’t blend into my skin. It screams BABY PINK on my cheeks and the lavender just looks silver on my skin. If I wear the together, again nothing happens. It just looks I have something silvery on my skin. I have tried applying pink more and lavender less, it starts looking OTT. I am planning to mix the pink in my loose powder and use it all over my face. (Thanks, Rima. 🙂 ) I am in a way happy that the blush broke, I can use it in a better way now. he he
Following are the swatches.
L- R Pink, Lavender, Pink and lavender mixed.
Here is me wearing it. Do you see a slight whitish cast on my cheeks, that’s how it looks. 😛
MAC Hang Loose mineralize blush would look best on people who are very fair (NC 25 or less, I am NC 35 ) or those who have pink undertones. It would serve as their natural blush.
This is for the first time I am using mineralogy blush from MAC, I simply loved the texture and the pigment. They are super smooth and goes on nicely on your cheeks. They do not accentuate the pores. The staying power I would say is nothing exceptional.
Overall, I would have loved these had the shade matched my skin tone. And don’t worry of your blush or eyeshadow breaks. Just crush them completely and transfer them to small jars. They would do the job well. 🙂
Have you used MAC Mineralize blushes?
