Today’s review is on MAC – Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. MAC has always been very fascinating for a makeup geek like me. MAC counter is so overwhelming that usually I come out without anything 🙁 This time when I went to MAC counter, the product that really caught my eyes were MSF’s. I loved all of them, but it was my first time, so I played it safe by choosing the most natural MSF for my skin tone called “Soft and Gentle.”

My Experience with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle:

When I bought this product, everybody was raving about MSF’s. Obviously, my eyes were set on them at the counter. I asked the MAC consultant to try it on my face. When she applied it on my cheek bones, chin and on the cupid’s bow, I completely fell in love with this product. I checked my face in the light outside the counter to check the shimmer part as I don’t like something very shimmery on my face and how it looked in natural light. It looked fabulous and was a perfect blend of powder and shimmer. It is actually same as its name “Soft and Gentle.”

Soft and Gentle MSF is from the permanent collection from MAC. It has peach and golden tones to it. It is a powder with frost finish to it. It glides on effortlessly. I use it as a highlighter. I apply Soft and Gentle with a large face brush or a stippling duo fiber brush for a lighter application.

I gently swirl the brush with a light hand and then I begin applying to the areas where the sun’s light hits my face. That includes cheekbones, brow bone, and a hint on the chin, cupid’s bow, and sometimes on the collar bone as well.

It gives a very natural glow to my face. This MSF is very natural.  As I checked other MSF’s, they could be a little difficult to pull off for a beginner like me. Those MSFs can be used on your cheeks alone as a blush.

Packaging is same as of any compact powder. It has a dome-shaped inside unlike the flat ones.  It looks pretty in the pan.  I apply this product every time I do my makeup.  It has become a staple product in my kit. This MSF would suit most of the skin types. It is very wearable during the daytime and especially in summers.

It has a very subtle gold shimmer. The texture is very smooth and refined. So, you cannot go wrong with this product. Some people do claim that they find this product to be too shimmery; however, I did not feel anything like that so.

I would however recommend to swatch it at the counter before buying.  This product would be liked by people who like to highlight certain areas on their face, but if you do not like highlighting or the idea of illuminator, you may skip this one. After buying this product, I got to know what a difference a highlighter can make to your face.

Yes, I have to try the other shades.

Overall, this is an adorable and luxurious product. I would recommend it to everyone. One should have at least one of these beauties. It is a gorgeous product that makes me feel pampered and beautiful.
