Hello all,

Today, I am reviewing a product which I bought just because the cute packaging caught my fancy. Maybelline launched these adorable blushes about a month ago. They come in 2 shades – 020 – Pinking of You and 030 – Pop of Peach. I picked both the shades as I could not decide which one to buy. Read on to find out how the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush in “Pinking of You” fared.

My Experience with Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush – Pinking of You:
Packaging: The blush comes in an absolutely adorable plastic container with a fish-fin like top. You need to unscrew the top to reveal the blush which is housed in a dome-like format. The fin can be used as a handle to hold while applying the blush.
The packaging is very similar to the EOS lip balm packaging. And I have clicked a photo of the blush and eos balm side by side to give you an idea of how tiny this blush is.
The packaging is very cute and will surely attract customers.
Color and Pigmentation: Pinking of You is a light warm-toned pink with very subtle shimmer. The blush is very sheer in its pigmentation and you will need a few swipes for the color to show up. In my opinion, this blush is best suited for pale/fair skin tones as it will not show up on darker skin tones. The shimmer particles are not really visible on the skin and provide a nice sheen to the cheeks.
Texture/Finish/Staying Power: Maybelline describes the texture of this blush as creamy, gel-like. I find it to be more like a balm – slightly oily and sticky on the skin. The positive side of this kind of texture is that it is pretty easy to blend. Of course, you cannot blend too much or the color itself will disappear. The finish is a dewy one with subtle sheen.
I am sure you can tell by now that this blush is not the best option for those with oily skin as it will end up looking quite oily on the skin. I have a combination skin and my cheeks are slightly dry this time of the year. However, even on me, this blush ends up looking oily after a few hours. Whatever little pigmentation I get out if this blush lasts on me for around 4 hours or so.
To summarize, this blush turned out to be a disappointment in terms of the pigmentation, texture and lasting power. So, the only good thing is the packaging. Now, that ain’t enough, right?

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush – Pinking of You?
Well, if like me, you like to collect cute looking cosmetics, you can get it. But there are much better blushes out there in the market to purchase. I already have the other shade – Pop of Peach with me and will not repurchase.
