Everything about this range is very attractive and eye-catching. I have picked up this whole V-Face range, and today let’s talk about the ‘Duo Stick’ in the shade Dark.

My Experience with Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Duo Stick Dark:

This new V-Face Duo stick comes in a very nice, dual-ended black tube with a clear cap on each side. Both the caps close perfectly and the stick is twist up type. Hence the stick is very easy to use and totally travel-friendly. This V-Face range has a particular silver colored “V” design on the packaging which looks very nice. Overall, this is an affordable and easy to use product.

Shades and Pigmentation:
They have launched this duo stick in just two shades in India, which is very disappointing. India has the most variety of skin tones and we obviously need different shades. This stick comes in only light-medium and medium-dark shades. The contour stick is not as dark as required for the tanned Indian skin tone. I have the shade ‘Dark’ and this shade is just one tone darker than my natural skin tone. I have medium tanned skin tone and my match in the Fit Me! range is ‘310 Sun beige’, so this one is not the perfect contour shade for me. This shade is only good for fair to light-medium skin tones. Also, there is no shade for dusky beauties. Still, both the shades are very pigmented and only a few swipes are required for the true color to show up.

One side of this stick has a very beautiful light beige highlighter that contains some shimmers in it. It is a beautiful highlighter for all skin tones and provides a very pretty yet subtle glow to the skin. The shimmers in this highlighter never look overpowering. This is perfect for everyday use. On the other side, there is the contour stick that provides a very lightly contoured look to my medium tanned skin tone. This shade looks very natural on the skin. This is good for a natural-looking and lightly contoured look. It doesn’t contain any shimmer.

Texture and Quality:
Both the shades are so creamy and smooth in texture that they blend effortlessly on the skin. I can blend them with my fingers too. It is very easy to use this stick and both the shades blend like a dream. They never leave any harsh lines either. This is a perfect product for beginners. The formula never feels patchy or dry on the skin. It actually feels very light. I can easily layer it up and it will still look perfectly even. As these sticks are quite creamy and soft in texture, I need to set these with a compact powder. I mostly use the powder from the same range and both provide me with a very nice effect. Otherwise, this stick also provides a soft creamy finish on the skin that looks nice. If you have dry skin then you can even skip the compact. These products never make skin too oily.

The glow provided by this highlighter looks very nice and shiny. It perfectly highlights the highest points of my face and makes me look beautiful. I love this highlighter! This contour shade is not for me, so I am very disappointed because the formula is amazing. These products have never broken me out. The creamy texture moves a little and that’s why it needs to be set. Also, these are easy to remove and shimmer never moves from its place. This stick provides a nice glow and lightly chiseled look to the face.

Staying Power:
The effect stays nicely on my face. The highlighter stays on for a good amount of time, that is for around 5-6 hours. The contouring shade starts to fade after a few hours. Since the contouring effect is very sheer for me, it doesn’t show up perfectly. I am not happy with this contouring shade.

I love this highlighter but the contouring shade disappointed me. My perfect contouring shade should be around 2-3 shades darker than my natural skin tone and this one is just one shade darker. If you have a very fair skin tone then this shade will work for you because the formula is amazing.

For the 1st image, I blended both the products with my fingertips. In the second one, I used a brush.

  1. Hi there, I have fair skin tone , I purchased this product online and chose a shade of “Medium to dark”. Is it the only dark shade that have or is there darker one? I tried it on my face but I felt that it would be nice if It was much darker

  2. No it is the only dark shade, I have tanned skin tone but it is only one shade darker than me. It works on me lightly. After blend it, it looks very sheer.
