I was on a makeup ban until recently, as I had to finish up a quite a lot of makeup that I already had. Hence, recently I did a tiny haul consisting of the Lakme lip pouts and Color Show lippies. I like these color so much that I bought it without thinking twice. So, let us find out if I made a fair decision or not.

My Take On Maybelline Pink Power M101 Color Show Matte Lipstick:
The packaging is the same as the Color Show lipstick range. A black colored tube with color coded bands. There is a sticker at the base with the shade name and number. The only difference is that the finish of the case is matte. This is a nice touch.
Pink power is a lovely light pink. When I swatched it, it reminded me of Bold Matte in Mat1 a lot, but it had less hints of coral. Pink power is cooler. It somehow does not highlight my face. This may not suit dusky beauties.
Texture and Pigmentation:
The texture is smooth and soft. It is creamy and glides on lips. However, it tends to give a patchy and uneven finish, even when the lips are exfoliated. It also highlights dry patches a lot. I pursed my lips to even it out, but it actually worsened it. It feels really light on lips. It does not smell or taste like anything. The pigmentation is good and buildable. Color payoff is also good.
Even though it is matte, it transfers to cups and cutlery. It fades unevenly after about 4 hours and it is not a pleasant sight. A lip liner will reduce the problem of patchy finish though it will not eliminate it. It is not at all drying on lips, but I do get that ‘I-had-worn-a-lipstick’ feel on my lips. Overall, I can say that I like Mat1 better at the end of the day in terms of texture and color.
Pros of Maybelline Pink Power M101 Color Show Matte Lipstick:

- Pink power is a pretty pink.
- Creamy and smooth texture.
- Feels light on lips.
- Finish is matte.
- Intensity can be built.
- Not drying on lips.
- Staying power is average.
Cons of Maybelline Pink Power M101 Color Show Matte Lipstick:
- Transfers even though it is matte.
- Gives a patchy and uneven finish.
- Packaging is very boring.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Maybelline Pink Power M101 Color Show Matte Lipstick?
At the end of the day, if I had to choose between Mat1 and this I wouldd go for the former. Though, both the shades are really close but I like the former better. If you are in a budget, then I would definitely suggest opting for this one.
