It has been a while now that I have reviewed any makeup product, so let’s just take a break from all the skin care rambling for a while now and discuss one of my favorite lip product. I have been a huge NARS lip pencil fan – the first shade that I bought was “Yu” and since then my love for NARS lip pencils have been growing, and so has my NARS lip pencil collection. I have quite a few now and this one is from velvet formulation – it’s called “Infatuated Red.” There are 10 new shades and I am eyeing all of them 😛

My Experience with NARS Infatuated Red Velvet Matte Lip Pencil:
NARS velvet matte lip pencil comes housed in a matte black chubby stick packaging. It is not retractable, so you have to sharpen it as and when required. The end of the pencil is colour coded to the shade of the lip pencil. The name of the brand and shade are printed in white around the pencil.
NARS lip pencil is one of my favourite lip pencil formulas. These are like jumbo pencils that cover large areas of the lip in a single swipe and take less time to cover entire lips unlike regular lip pencils.
“Infatuated Red” is a deep burnt red shade. It will look stunning on any skin tone. Not only the formula is stunning, the staying power is also great. I get full 7 to 8 hours of wear time without any drinking or eating. It does fade away when you eat or drink, but it leaves a stain behind so your lips won’t look flat even if it’s worn off a little bit.
The formulation of NARS lip velvet matte lip pencil is just stunning. It offers matte finish without drying out the lips. It glides on easily and feels very lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I haven’t noticed any bleeding or feathering, which is a major concern for some people.
It makes your lips look fuller and smooth and does not settle into the fine lines of the lips, but you do need to scrub your lips before applying this lipstick since it clings on to the dry patches of the lips.
