Today, I’m reviewing another product from my recent Sephora Haul that I did. This review will be of the NYX Round lipstick in Frosted Beige. Read on to know how it fared for me.
NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick is our classic lipstick for all occasions. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvety texture, saturated color and it resists wear and smudging. It’s your go-to lipstick. From Pure Nude to Pink Lyric to Chic Red, Round Lipstick is available in a jaw-dropping variety of shade.
Product price: I bought it for INR 375.
My take on Nyx Round Lipstick in Frosted Beige:
Packaging: It comes in a simple black colored packaging with the bottom of the bullet denoting the color of the lipstick (a peachy coral in this case), which is in fact very practical because it makes finding the lipstick easier when you own a couple of these. The packaging is like any other drugstore lipstick’s, it’s nothing over the top yet it is very decent looking. I don’t think this particular lipstick is that sturdy or travel-friendly because the cap is literally on the verge of cracking/ breaking because it is not at all made of good quality plastic.
Shade: Frosted Beige shade is everything that the name says and much more. When I read the name, I thought it was going to be a nice MLBB neutral brown/ beige color that would be perfect for everyday wear. When I swatched it on my hand, it turned out to be very mildly beige but extremely frosted.
Anyhow, I thought of giving it a chance because I didn’t own any frosted lipstick prior to this one. It is actually a very cool toned silvery- beige lipstick with lots of shimmer in it. Because of the shimmer in it, it ends up looking very over the top and looks downright ugly on me. It is just not the shade for Indian skin tones. It washes me out completely. This lipstick has kind of a foil finish, but perhaps it’s because of the shimmer content in it.
Texture: The texture of NYX round lipsticks is often compared to that of MAC cremesheen lipsticks. This lipstick is buttery soft and it glides on to the lips very smoothly. This lipstick has a decent color payoff and one swipe deposits 80 % of the color on the lips. This lipstick, despite being heavy on shimmer, has a velvety smooth texture. This lipstick is moisturizing, like all the other NYX extra creamy round lipsticks and does not dry out the lips even when it is not accompanied by a lip balm. The wear time is pretty average; it stays on for 3-4 hours with light meals. It hides the pigmentation of my lips well.
Pros of NYX Frosted Beige Round Lipstick :
• Nyx extra creamy round lipsticks come in a wide variety of shades, 144 shades to be precise.
• Buttery smooth in texture
• Easily available (online as well as at Sephora)
• It is decently pigmented. Usually it requires only two swipes.
Cons of NYX Frosted Beige Round Lipstick :
• I don’t find the packaging sturdy as the cap is on the verge of breaking.
• It is a very tricky shade. I do not like it as such.
• It has a very weird foil-like, metallic finish.
• People who don’t like lipsticks with shimmer can skip this one.
• It is not a shade for Indian skin tones, unless you have really pale skin tone.
• Washes me out completely.
Will I repurchase it/ do I recommend NYX Frosted Beige Round Lipstick ?
I won’t repurchase it and unless you really like metallic, shimmery lipsticks I’d suggest you skip this.
IMBB rating: 1.5/5 (only for the texture and pigmentation)
Conclusion: If you like to wear lipsticks with shimmer and a metallic finish, this lipstick is for you!
