NYX Napoleon Intense Butter Gloss Review

I had read a lot of positive reviews of the NYX Butter Gloss on the internet as well as on IMBB. So, when NYX came out with the new “Intense Butter Gloss” range, I was curious to try these out. This range has 12 shades and I picked up the shade “Napoleon.” Read on to find out more.

My Experience with NYX Napoleon Intense Butter Gloss:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in a sleek opaque glass tube packaging with a black cap. The color of the tube is the same shade as the lip gloss and hence identifying the gloss becomes easy. It comes with a regular doe foot applicator.

Shade/Pigmentation: Napoleon is a very bright pink, almost bordering on neon. This shade is not really my cup of tea, but those who like bright summery shades will really enjoy wearing this. The shade is tricky and medium/dark skin beauties may not find it too flattering.  The lipstick is fairly pigmented but since it is a gloss, it does not really provide full coverage in a single swipe. Also, it applies a bit patchy and you need to be careful with the application.

Texture/Finish:  The gloss looks like molten lipstick and its texture very creamy. It indeed glides like butter on the lips. I find it very comfortable and moisturizing on the lips. I was worried that it might feel a bit sticky or tacky, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it does not feel that way on the lips. It imparts a gorgeous high intensity glossy shine to the lips.

Lasting Power:  The lasting power of the lip gloss is around 3 hrs. After that, the shine fades away but some color is still visible. It does transfer and cannot survive a whole meal.

• This shade might not be suitable for all skin tones.
• Goes a bit patchy during application.
• Transfers and does not stay for long.

Would I Repurchase NYX Napoleon Intense Butter Gloss?
If neon pink lip glosses are your thing, you can surely try this out.  I will not repurchase the same shade but might try other shades from the range.
