Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – Lovesick Review

Hi IMBBians!!!

What’s up?? Scorching summer is slowly making it’s way into our routines through the steadily rising temperatures. Sigh! And know what? To top it all, I have my examinations coming up in 10 days!! Yikes!! God knows how I am going to write my papers with just a centuries old ceiling fan revolving above my head. I mean, they take so much fees, but colleges here are going to take the top slot in my list of misers, honestly. Firstly the exam pressure, then the horrible weather, and then absolutely nothing to give us some comfort during those three terrifying hours. God help me!! Okay, I am blabbering, I just can’t help it, I am shit scared. You know the last result of CA final was just 3%!!! I mean they flunked 97% students!!! Let’s see what do they do this time.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Coming to today’s product, this one is a fairly well known, and a bestseller, ever since the time it was launched. This is one product which has been raved on and on by many beauty bloggers around the world, including our dear IMBBians. Also, this was the first of it’s kind introduced in India. Enough suspense, I am talking about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, which was probably the first retractable crayon kind of long lasting lip color cum lip balm in India. I was just curious enough to test it, so when I saw it online, I just had to pick one shade. Let us move on to the review, shall we?

Packaging:

It comes in a cute chubby fat crayon form. The best part about Revlon Balm Stains is that these are retractable crayons, so no need for sharpening (hurrayyyyy!!). This makes them so easy and convenient to use. Also, this saves a lot of product from wastage due to sharpening, and also a lot of time. This is small enough to fit in your bag or even a small clutch or purse. The packaging is color coded according to the shade, so if you have more than one of these, it is very easy to pick your shade in a hurry.

Shades:

There are a total of 12 shades in market; however, the shade that I picked is Lovesick.

My Experience with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – Lovesick:

As I have mentioned above, the shade that I picked is called “Lovesick Passionnee.” It is a bright fuschia pink, with a bit of neon undertones. It can instantly brighten up your face. In the swatch and LOTD however, it comes a bit light, it is a tad darker in reality. This may be due to the fact that I have slightly pigmented lips, or slightly dark. On lighter complexions, this may come out a soft neon fuschia.

The first thing you notice when you apply these is the smell. They smell like “Polo” *hihi* , ya seriously they do. I don’t mind as the slight tingling cool sensation along with Polo smell is heavenly in this weather. Sadly, it goes away in a minute. I so want it to stay longer, sigh! Secondly, unlike many of its counterparts, which are also long lasting, *cough* Lakme crayons*coughs*, these do moisturize your lips. However, the moisturizing features do not stay for long, and go away with your snacks and meals, leaving the stain. Also, since this one leaves a stain, it is very important to scrub and moisturize your lips before you apply this, or else you may end up having flaky lips with bloody stains after your meals, and trust me it looks baaaaad. Been there, done that.

The coverage is good enough, along with the color payoff. It does not have very opaque coverage or high intensity color, but it does a very good job for giving a soft, moisturized, and tinted glow to lips. You can swipe it over for more color, however, if you want a rich and heavy color payoff, this may not be for you. This is a medium coverage soft tint, which gives natural color and glow, for a long time. It lasts for hours and hours, and can only be completely removed with your makeup remover or baby oil. So far, so good.

IMBB Rating:

I rate the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – Lovesick Passionee a 4.5/5.

Yes, in spite of the aforesaid cons, this is a very good product. It does not dry freakingly, gives a decent natural flush of color, and is long lasting. What more can you want. Yes, I would have been happier had they given SPF at this price, but then, you cannot have it all. I hope they include SPF in the new improvised versions.  Yes, I would purchase at least one another shade.

Hope you all found my review helpful. Till the next time, see ya!! I gotta study *scared* *scared*
