Back with some more makeup, from the “Rimmel Moisture Renew” range. The super shiny packaging always called out to me, but somehow, I could not pick them up until recently. I have 3 from the range and reviews of all of them are coming up back to back. Here is the review on the shade “Dreamy.”
Rs. 500 for 4 gm.
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick offers maximized, radiant color. The innovative formula with 3 super moisturizers will make your lips feel up to 70% more hydrated and up to 60% smoother! The SPF 20, Vitamins A, C and E keeps your lips protected. Lips so cared for, true color is maximized!
My Experience with Rimmel Dreamy Moisture Renew Lipstick:
The packaging, as I have already mentioned, is a super shiny purple with a color-coded sticker at the base, which has both the name and number of the shade. The cap shuts with a click and is pretty sturdy, so there is no chance of it opening up in the makeup pouch. The bullet is a regular one and nothing unique. Overall, an attractive packaging to look at, also simple enough for regular use.
The texture of “Dreamy” is pretty smooth, but due to the shimmer in the shade, there is a bit of gritty feel on application. Though it is not uncomfortably gritty, but I absolutely hate such feeling on my lips. The pigmentation is medium as the shade is light in itself. No matter how many times you swipe it, the coverage remains medium. For those with pigmented lips, applying a lip liner beneath is suggested.
The shade is a pearly peach with poor pigmentation. On application, the shimmer is only visible and the peach tone vanishes. I am so disappointed with the pigmentation in particular. It can be used as a shimmery shade on top of a matte lipstick. I am not a big fan of such shades, so this is a dud for me.
The staying power could have gained this some ratings, but in that aspect also, it has failed! Due to the gross texture, the shade does not stay on the lips for more than 2 hours. It transfers heavily and hence vanishes after a mini meal.
Pros of Rimmel Dreamy Moisture Renew Lipstick:
- Pretty packaging.
- Available easily.
- Affordable (on discount, mostly).
Cons of Rimmel Dreamy Moisture Renew Lipstick:
- Gross texture.
- Poor staying power.
- Low pigmentation.
- Bad shade.

Bad shade.. It reminds of me of old lipsticks which only had shimmers in them nothing else…lol
Why do people even make frosted lipsticks anymore? They dont go with today`s sleek looks and appeal.
Rash Ram-Leela will get started within a few weeks, you could donate it to them. 😛

It looks so ghastly on lips. Real dud!
It is disappointing when you get attached to the brand and it is like a lipstick from stone age :/
