Travel : Dubai is around 3 hours from Delhi . There are direct Emirates flights from the major metros . The economy class ticket for a round trip is Rs 15,000 and Business Class is around Rs 55,000.

There was this awesome bakery shop called Paul Restaurant in the Mall of Emirates. They serve yummy sandwiches, salads, pastries and nice warm tea.

Crispy french fries. Being a vegetarian, I mostly find problem finding food at various places . In Dubai I absolutely had no issues finding food. Most places serve delicious vegetarian food. :))

Oh my god! I so want Debenhams and Bloomingdales to come to India. They stock almost all high end brands- Chanel, MAC, Dior, Burberry, Armani, Bobbi Brown, Victoria’s Secret. Lovvvveee! the place.

Everywhere restaurant we have gone in Dubai, they serve these lovely warm breads before the main course. You can eat them just as it is or with the assortments such as honey, jam, butter etc they offer with the bread basket.
My most favourite orange and pineapple juice.

Delicious pasta cooked in arrabiata sauce.
A piece of advice- avoid eating those yummy breads before your meal or else you’d never be able to finish up your main course. 😛

I also had dinner at a place called Buddha Bar. great music, great food and great service.
Overall, Dubai is a great place for both shopping and sight seeing. People are nice and warm. You wouldn’t have issues with food. Dubai has a great night life.It has av ery cosmopolitan culture so you wouldn’t feel out of place ever.

No komal. We have awesome accessory shops such as Aldo, accessorize, fabinidia, shopper’s stop and many kiosks here. And especially janpath. Didn’t feel like picking up from Dubai. 😀

Hey Debenhams is in India Rati – it’s in Gurgaon. it comes on the left side as soon as your cross the toll gates into Gurgaon. Same mall where the Leela Palace hotel is.

Yes, but soft they stay for 2 days….then start drying from outer corners to inner…..but trick is to eat fast and make that much bread to last only 2 days. I’ll do a post on it.

Great photos Rati! I was also “wowed” when I first went to Europe and saw all the malls….(that was my first trip outside India)……This was 11-12 years back. I had got my first lip gloss ($10) and was totally in awe of the way they lure you into malls. I wanted to buy so much ( perfumes, cosmetics, earrings etc)…..but we had strict rules….no pestering mom-dad for buying things at the malls……cause the Europe trip itself was too much! But I kept on thinking….”I’ll be moving to US anyways”…..( I was engaged then)……believe me….when I moved here…..every week, couple of times I used to go to grocery store just for cosmetics section and check out the stuff….I was so in awe! I didnt have car, so used to walk about a mile and do timepass and then head back home……….Now I dont have time by myself….sigh 😐 My kids hate cosmetics section already…..do not like their mom deciding between 5 colors of pink in 4 different brands…… :yawn:
Nia, you should send you kids with their Dad sometime to select a TV or a laptop…they would prefer to go with you instead from the next time 🙂
