  1. hello Meenakshi…..
The weather over there is pleasant, n u wont need winter wear like coats/jackets/sweater over thr…
u can carry ur normal clothes and just a few warm stoles if u want….
Must visit places in terms of shopping :
For Street shopping/flee market- colaba causway, hill road, linking road etc
The malls at phoenix mills are good too…. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. totally agree wid nupur….its not dat cold hea….evenings r bit chilly tho….u can visit also visit fashion street n pheonix malls a def must see….. :snicker: :snicker:

  3. Hey meenakshi.. The weather is super awsome here.. Its cool and not cold, very pleasent all u will need is a stole to keep u warm. Since u are in the office from 9-6 the places you can visit are many.excluding from all the main tourists places you could visit carter road. Go street shopping at colaba causeway, have excellent food at bademiya. Pheonix mall and palladium. And since u are from delhi, u guys don’t have a sea to see. So u can go to marine lines, Juhu beach or bandstand for that.. U have to go on the BANDRA-WORLI SEALINK. Two amazing mall’s have opened here “pheonix market city at BKC” and “Infinity 2 at Malad” hope u have a great time here. Its one of the most lively city. It never sleeps. U can even enjoy chinese food at 3 at night here. ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. since i am not sure what you like to eat , i am guessing being a delhi girl u get more than ur fair share of chicken tikka’s, but for a bombay style biryani, which is not as rich as the delhi version, try lucky’s in bandra. take some time out to walk around old bombay, colaba, jahangir art gallery, the museum and so on.. btw the RBI has a money museum you may want to go to.. old bbay is beautiful to walk around in… in terms of the new bombay, try going to see kanheri caves at borivli national park..

  5. Hey Meenakshi.. Plz try mumbai’s vada paav, pani puri (They aren’t like our gol gappas at all but still yum in their own way) and if you get a chance to visit phoenix mills make sure you grab a frankie cuz that’s not something we get in dilli.
For makeup you must visit Inorbit mall since it has the one and only MUFE outlet ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hope this helps.Have a great trip .

P.s Good luck with the mumbai traffic ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Pardon me, but how is pani puri different from gol gappa? I always thought they were the same but then I grew up abroad.

    1. Nailna you could also try..Alfa stores and other shops at Irla (Andheri)… A shop called Ava at the Irla market has some awesome footwear… not sure of their collection now but duting summer they had awesome wedges and other types too… also Lokhandwala ( Andheri ) is a great place to shop..

Have a wonderful time….

  11. In Malad we have In orbit mall. Fashion street and Colaba causeway u can do on ur week off as they are on the other side of town u can’t go after office.
U should surely go to Bandra linking road & hill road it is a little far from Malad say an hr by taxi considering the traffic….

  12. Welcome To Mumbai Rati….weather is cool out here in the evenings and sunny during the days. Compared to delhi a warmer weather indeed. Carry your sunscreen and sunglasses for the day and stole for the evenings (You may not need it)

You can shop for trinkets, tops at Colaba causeway, bags, slippers, tops trinkets at Linking road Khar/Bandra

Irla at vile parle west has “Alfa” and shops around it. Shopping heaven

Visit “The Beauty Centre” at Crawford Market for shopping for cosmetics and the works provided you don’t mind crowds.

Travel with a friend/Mumbaiite coz though the city is quite safe, the cabbies will take you for a ride literally. Pay by the meter for the cabs and autos , no Delhi style “Kitna Loge”

Walk along the marine drive in the evening…or visit bandra bandstand to get a glimpse of the sea.

  13. jomolllllllllllll……… hiiiiii…. not after ages.. i check imbb ebheryday at around 2 in the night before going to slepp.. but too tired to comment ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›

  14. Have fun, Meenakshi and Naina!

The weather should be pleasant at this time of the year (I don’t live in Mumbai). Do try Bhel puri, Seyu puri, and Pav bhajji when you visit Mumbai. The ladies have given a lot of good advice already.

  15. heyyy – here are my recommendations..I love Mumbai :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: so here are some of my favourites

Veg Food – Juhu Chaat, pav bhaji types
Sea Food – gazala – versova (let me know if you need directions)
Shopping – Colaba Causeway, Lokhandwala, Manish market – Andheri W – let me know if you need directions, Linking Road Bandra
Drink or two – Leopold’s cafe – Colaba Causeway
Sightseeing – Ferry at gateway of India, Taj, marine Drive – do the buggy ride if you can hang around late
temples/Mosque – Haji Ali, Siddhi Vinayak, Mahalakshmi

  16. Hi..

    Welcome to Mumbai.

The weather is amazing here right now. A stole and a very light jacket would help you tide through the day..
There is no dearth of malls around Mumbai, but i guess you would find them in Delhi too. So I would suggest dont go mall hunting unless you want to do some serious shopping..

You can enjoy a meal at Candies at Pali Hill Bandra or if you relish non-veg do try out Bademiye. This place will explain why street food defines Mumbai.

Take a stroll along marine drive and enjoy your Pizza at Pizzeria overlooking the sea. Request for a sea view table and you will have Mumbai to your self in all its glory..The sunset and the night fall …..it will remain with you.

    Cheers !!
    Pamela

  17. Hey Meenakshi Welcome to Mumbai…:) Weather here is quite pleasant and only little chilly during early morning & late nights….There are quite a lot of places you can visit…There are loads of malls here…but i suggest u can skip that as there are malls in Delhi as well…If u r interested in sight seeing & street shopping then u can start from Gateway of India…wonderful view of the sea and Taj Mahal…the architechture there is from the old British times…theres asiatic library and jehangir art gallery…and offcourse there’s Colaba Causeway nearby where u can find loads of goodies from clothes to jewellery to knick knacks…dont forget to bargain…then offcourse there’s fashion street near CST. Theres a beauty center in CST where u can shop for makeup at less price… Also u could go to Bhuleshwar if u r interested in Jewellery shopping and also get good quality dress materials for less price. There’s no dearth of of eating places near colaba…theres Bade miyan for awesome kabab & biryani…Mahesh lunch home near Fort for good sea food…and There’s Hill road and Linking Road in Bandra where u can do street shopping… they have great clothes, accessories, bags & shoes for lesser prices…Lucky in bandra has awesome biryani…u could also visit Juhu beach and marine lines

  18. Just a thought… Beware of pickpockets and purse-snatchers. Take care of your purse, jewellery, and other personal belongings when you travel to Mumbai.
