6 Tips to Get a 3D Lip Effect

1. Use lip liners

Choose the shade of lip liner that is slightly darker than your lipstick shade and use it to outline your lips properly. Fill in the lips with a lipstick. After that, apply a highlighter only to the outline of your upper lip. This will instantly make your lips appear fuller and plumper.

2. Use lighter coloured lippies
As dark colours have a slimming effect be it clothes or your lipstick, so choose lighter shades of lipsticks when you want to give 3D effects to your lips.

3. Use a lip rejuvenator
Invest in a lip rejuvenator that has peptides and hyaluronic acid. These ingredients are known to soften the lines on the lips and plump them. 3D effect shows up on more highly on plumper lips as compared to very thin lips.

4. Blending is the key
This is also another way to get a 3D effect on the lips. Apply any dark shade on your lips. Now take a lighter shade and blend the colour outwards from the midpoint of your lips. Then apply a shimmery lipgloss in the middle part of your lips for a 3D pout.

5. Use white eye liner
Apply a lighter shade of lipstick on your lips. Then coat your lips with a plumping lip gloss which will reflect light. Then take white eyeliner and apply a thin layer of it just above the Cupid’s bow and below the lower lip. Blend in with your fingers so there’s no obvious white line. All of these steps give the illusion of light and add dimension to lips.

6. Use metallic eye shadows
Metallic eye shadows like silver or gold will reflect light and make your upper lip look fuller and will give a 3D look. Apply any shade of lipstick and then dab gold or silver eye shadow in the centre of your top and bottom lips. Blend well.
