I would say invest in a good scrub, cleanser, toner and moisturiser according to your skin type. Then start with foundation, concealer(if u have blemishes or dark circles, etc), lipsticks, blush and eyeshadows.
1. a nice mascara! it will open up your eyes instantly.
2. kajal/ kohl pencil.
3. pretty tinted lip balms.
4. to perfect the look completely, a concealer & compact.
5. dont forget to smell wonderful
6. take care of your health and skin!(i’m assuming you already own cleansers and moisturizers and skin treatments)
Well..a good foundation according to skin tone n type, compact, blush, kohl/liner, shadow (in 2-3 favorite shades and another 2-3 in unconventional ones when u get bored of the former
.. lip liners , lipstick (in varieties: liquid, matte, cream and sheer), glosses (in colors of ur mood
) , a shimmer in the kittie is gr8 although not used everyday and tinted lipbalm and ya a basket of nailcolors  ,,cant get enough of them
eeek forgot mascara voluminising and lengthening and most importantly with a non-clumping formula
Hi Mary, not sure if you’re in India or somewhere else. Anyway, here is my list in no particular order.
1. lip gloss – can try maybelline, colorbar juicy tubes or even nivea starshine
2. mascara – maybelline collosal volume or define a lash
3. tinted moisturizer – biotique or ponds
4. compact – maybelline
5. blush – maybelline, colorbar, lakme
6. kajal – lotus herbals
7. eye liners in different colours – lakme glide on, colorbar
Can’t think of any more…I’ve written of products that I’ve tried, are not too expensive and are available in India. If you’re from another country, just ignore the brand names I’ve mentioned and look at only the products
1.Mascara
2.Kajal
3.Foundation
4.Gloss
5.Eyeshadow
.-= Aarthi´s last blog ..Whats in my handbag =-.

3.Concealer to hide dark circles and blemishes
4.eyeshadow
5. Mascara
6.eye pencil in black/Kajal
6. Blush
7.lipgloss
8. lipstick
9. A compact powder for touch ups
1. colorbar powder shadows are good and economical
2. maybelline cream mousse blush is cool and economical
3. Maybelline moisture extreme lipstick is a must
4. I prefer lakme liquid liners. they are cool and inexpensive.
after using these products over a period of time, you can incorporate “hardcore” products like foundation, eyeshadow, concealer etc.
1. a basic black eyeliner
2. a lipgloss (that closely matches your natural colour)
3. waterproof mascara
4. loose/compact powder
5. peach blush
