Top Drugstore Indian Makeup Products

DrugstoreA few days back Erin asked me to list down atleast 2 options for each makeup product- reasonable one and a somewhat high end one
For example:

  • Category 1 – Reasonable Options for college students/makeup beginners*

Eyeliner : Lakme
Blush: Inglot

  • Category 2 –  Quite High End Options for working people/makeup amateurs*

Eyeliner : Clinique or Mac
LipGloss : Chanel

Now this was not a bad idea at all. Following is the list that I have prepared for the drugstore brands. I have not included the Revlon, Loreal, TBS, Beyu etc as of now because they fall in the mid end category. Also, I plan to keep updating this as and when more reviews come in.

Do leave the names of your favourite products in the comments and I’ll update the list.

What are your favourite drugstore makeup products in each category? Also please tell your favourite high end and mid end category products for the next list. 🙂

  1. Here’s my list – pretty much incomplete, but its just for the fun of commenting 😛

    Lipstick – Maybelline
    Lipgloss – Lakme Aquashines
    Blush – Lakme
Eyeliner – Lakme – I actually like the Glide Ons
Eyeshadows – umm..I actually liked the Lakme quad (oh goodness..so many brickbats are going to come my way)
    Mascara – Maybelline
Compact/Foundation – Sorry if I had to pick those, I would rather go with talcum powder – Ponds oil control wala …not meant to offend anyone who might like Lakme/Lotus, but they just don’t suit my skin type. So why bother buying!
Makeup brushes – only have TBS ones, and some nameless brand from Wal-Mart..both okay.

    Mid-end:
TBS..TBS…I love TBS…lipsticks and mineral foundation (though haven’t tried it – I think they are good)
    I definitely don’t like Loreal..don’t know why :-((
Mascara: Would still be Maybelline. Is good, so why jump to the mid-end ones 😛
Eyeliner/eyeshadow: Lakme/Maybelline. Dont like the bodyshop ones one bit – the eyeshadows, that is. Maybe I don’t know how to use them properly, though!

    High-end: Now…this is a bit confusing…errr…. 😀

  2. Off topic question. I just did a Maybelline haul and got stuck with the Whitestay UV compact in WHITE (free with some purchase). I look like a ghost if I use it on my face. The SA refused to give anything else/any other color. Any ideas about what I can do with it?

    Paperweight?

(And the SA kept saying it will make me fair. ARGH!)

    1. MAC prep n prime, MUFE HD – they’re all white powders! But ppl rave about them!

Take a large powder brush (not a very dense one) and lightly brush it over the powder to set your make up. The key word is LIGHTLY. I’m sure that’ss work. :))

  3. Ooooh I know the answer to this one. I am not that good with makeup stuff, but I remember Rati did this video – smokey eye look – with two hmmmph Chanal shadows. Maybe you can use this white compact like how she used the white shadow..just below her eyebrows…. 😀 😀 Overdose of tea 😀

  4. That white eyeshadow is super pigmented. 😛 But you are right you may use it to highlight your brows …can’t think of anything else. :-/

  5. hi i just wanted to know a perfect sunscreen lotion for my t Zone skin–for summers and i m whole day in A.C in office—
