I totally love Bath & Body Works (BBW)! Their shower gels, lotions, body mists, perfumes, hand sanitizers, lip balms, glosses….. It is a perfect treat for a fragrance freak like me!!! The variety that they have is incredible. Right from totally girly to offbeat, from really strong to very mild… They probably have every fragrance available! Their perfumes for men are equally good. Even if I am 20 ft. away from their store, I know I am about to approach BBW! The wafts of perfume literally pull me into their store!! At one point, I had so many products from BBW that I actually made a firm resolve that I would not be buying anything from BBW for the next few months at least!

The product I would be reviewing today is ‘Secret Wonderland Shower Gel’. I had actually forgotten that I had a set (shower gel, lotion, body mist) in Secret Wonderland and it remained unused for a long time. I realized this recently and this has now become my current favourite!!!

My experience with Secret Wonderland Shower Gel:

Totally in love with this shower gel!! As I had mentioned before, I have a set of shower gel, body lotion, and body mist in this fragrance. The packaging of the shower gel has not changed. But I had bought this a long time back, and now the packaging of the mist and lotion has changed a bit. This gel comes in a gorgeous sturdy transparent bottle. It has a lovely design of flowers, woods… Something mystical!!! Pretty attractive! The bottle has the usual BBW flip cap. The shower gel is available in two sizes – 295 ml (total value-for-money) and 88 ml (travel sized bottle). The small bottles are available for USD 5 and are perfect partners when you are travelling (as they are so so compact and sturdy and can fit simply anywhere in your bag). It is decently priced if bought from the US or Canada. BBW often has mix and match deals on shower gels, lotions and mists, wherein, you get 3 travel sized bottles for $10!

The gel is a light purple colored liquid. It smells divine!! It feels like a slush of mixed berries, with a hint of some flowery scent (cannot really point out the exact flowers though) and vanilla. At the same time, it isn’t overly sugary sweet and overpowering. It is basically a berry based fragrance, which is really fresh and totally uplifts my mood! It is a very relaxing scent and as the name suggests, it does transport me to a different world!!! The fragrance lingers for around 1 hour. I layer this fragrance, and use the lotion as well as the mist. This lasts for approximately 6-7 hours!!! It fades, but even after 6-7 hours, some hint of fragrance lingers. LUSCIOUS is the word!

The consistency of this gel is not very runny, and not too thick. Whether I use a loofah or just bare hands, this lathers really well! A few drops are enough to work up a rich lather! It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth, without leaving behind the slippery (‘unwashed’) feeling that many shower gels do. Skin feels clean and soft. It has moisturizing properties as well. Even without using a lotion, skin doesn’t become dry and stretchy. However, I don’t think the moisturising properties are going to make a big difference during winter.

Verdict: I don’t really find any con in this product! I totally love it! However, not everyone might enjoy fruity, berry based fragrances. So, for those who do, go ahead and try this one out!!
