In continuation with my Estee Lauder reviews, today’s review is on another blush from the Pure Colour range. As I have mentioned in my previous review, the blushes come in two finishes – Shimmer and Satin. While “Wild Sunset” was a shimmer one, the blush under review today is from the “Satin”range. Let us see how this one performs.

My Experience with Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush 06 Hot Sienna Satin:
Shade: The shade “Hot Sienna” is a neutral kind of dusty rose with just a touch of brown. It is one of those natural looking, “no brainer” colours which we tend not to buy, but are the ones which are most useful. Shades like this one and MAC Bushbaby, Tom Ford Ravish, Clinique Ginger are least exciting in the pan but can look very pretty while keeping the tone natural.
If you look at the swatches – you will feel it would look too dark on the skin. Yes, if used with a heavy hand, it could end up looking blotchy or appear as if your skin is ruddy. But, when used lightly and blended through, it gives a very natural appearance.
Again, this will work very well for the office gals – for one, it anyway looks natural, and two, the finish is devoid of any shimmer. It looks almost matte but not the flat matte…if you know what I mean.
Texture: The texture is extremely smooth, soft and silky. It is extremely finely milled and amazingly blendable. It definitely swatches heavily though the texture is not crumbly, but it blends out so effortlessly, it’s quite amazing. It transfers onto the brush quite easily, so I do suggest that you tap off the excess before applying it to your cheeks. It does not get patchy, neither does it accentuate pores.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is amazing. You can refer to the finger swatches for that. However, the texture is so beautiful that it blends into the most natural “blush,” instead of applying blotchy, which you would then need to work on to diffuse.
Staying Power: This will last you the whole day, for about 10 hours and more. The intensity of the shade may come down a little by the 7-8 hour mark. This aspect too makes it fitting for the working gals.
Visibility on skin tone: The colour shows up easily on my NC30 skin tone. One gentle swipe of the brush gives amazing pigmentation. It would show up as easily on a deeper skin tone as well. Lighter skin tone will definitely need to go with a very light hand. Anybody who has natural ruddiness or rosacea, I would suggest them to avoid this shade. The shade has that natural looking reddish tinge which will not work on a skin which is dealing with natural redness (in the form of rosacea) because it will draw attention to it.
Pros of Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush 06 Hot Sienna Satin:
- Dusty rose which will look pretty on all skin tones.
- Extremely natural looking.
- Effortlessly blends into the skin.
- Finely milled, smooth, almost creamy in texture.
- Excellent pigmentation.
- Lasted well over 10 hours on my combination/oily face.
- The color works well for day and night both.
- Does not break me out.
- There is no chalkiness.
- It does not accentuate pores.
- Works well for office goers.
- You get a tonne of product – 7 gm.
Cons of Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush 06 Hot Sienna Satin:
- I just wish the brand would consider making smaller pan and reducing the price accordingly because the price point may well be a deterrent towards people buying such an amazing product.

Overall Thoughts:
I do not hesitate to recommend this blush to anyone except for someone dealing with rosacea. Not only does it look natural, it really does blend beautifully to a natural flush and the longevity is fantastic. It just surprises me why this range isn’t talked about as much as say NARS’ blushes! In the #LOTD, I have not used any bronzer or contouring product.
