The last time I tried a shampoo with argan oil, it gave me a terrible hair fall. I hated how everyone was in love with argan oil at that time, and how my hair wasn’t accepting it at all. Now I tried this one by Kiehl’s and was left surprised…but only for a short time.

My Experience with Kiehl’s Superbly Smoothing Argan Shampoo:
The packaging is as basic as it can get. A simple plastic bottle that has all the details with a basic flip top cap. The hole in the cap dispenses sufficient product at a time, and it is easy to control the quantity. I like how this brand is transparent and gives all the product related details on the packaging. These plastic labels stay intact and water does not affect them. I don’t think that this is a travel friendly packaging though, since the cap might get opened due to external pressure.
This is a nice, sulfate-free, silicone-free and paraben-free shampoo that’s lightweight. This particular variant contains argan oil and is meant for frizzy and unruly hair. I find this shampoo apt for my hair to a good extent as my hair has the tendency to become frizzy and unruly at times. It has a very nice consistency that gets diluted in the water easily and then cleanses the scalp. Since it is a sulfate-free shampoo, I need to take excess quantity and hence this one get over quickly. I have thick hair which makes me use it even more. This one is clearly not meant for people who like their shampoos to lather heavily.
As it claims, it gently cleanses my hair and makes it shiny. With a few usage, my hair started feeling so soft and well moisturised. It does not have a very prominent smell, but when I smell the bottle it feels like Eno or Sprite…I don’t know why! As far as frizz control is concerned, it initially controls frizz to a good extent too. I have tried many shampoos for dry and rough hair and this one is decent, not great. But can it be my HG shampoo? No! It first of all is not able to control oil for more than two days. Second, I need to take a lot of quantity if my hair has dust in it.
It is gentle and that’s what it claims, but it is so gentle that it is not able to clean oily hair and/or dirty hair at all. I can never use this shampoo if I have oiled my hair. I just know it won’t be able to cleanse it. Another thing I have noticed is that its effects become stagnated after a while. Like after a point it just stops moisturising hair, it stops enhancing the lustre, it stops making hair look healthier. Also it stops controlling frizz.
So I would say that this is a good shampoo for people with fine, thin hair. Someone with thick hair, like me, won’t be able to reap many benefits from it. It cleanses hair and scalp gently but way too gently. It cannot clean your hair well if you happen to have dirt in your hair. I don’t think this one can be anyone’s HG shampoo. Not one of the best products by Kiehl’s!

No, this is not a very good shampoo as it doesn’t deliver any extraordinary results. Try Organix Hydrating Tea Tree Mint Shampoo if you have dry and rough hair. It is very nourishing and hydrating.
