Reply

Rati April 21, 2010 at 10:23 pm

lol!! That’s a great question. ;-) I guess it just evens out the skin tone giving light to medium coverage. :)

don’t know if i gonna try this or not but will definately try lakme bridal sutra foundation which has moisturizers & sunscreen & it is intended 4 daily use.& its lightest shade maches my skin tone too.so as soon as i get finished up with my loreal true match,i will get that 1.

It appears to blend well – but this is orange!! Who in India has orange colored skin? :-D

I seriously doubt lakme has any proper shades – they will either be too light, too dark or else orange!

Rati April 21, 2010 at 5:14 pm

Lol!! orange skintone. :D I found my perfect shade in maxfactor’s foundation. Glad!

Im surely gonna check this one out.. i actually like this runny liquidish consistency in my foundations, though it seems to give minimum coverage but then i don’t need much coverage anyways. Now if im gonna buy this or not totally depends on shades available and the price factor.

Im quiet happy with my maybelline mousse foundation but my bf doesn’t likes any kind of base on my face. he feels my skin is beautiful without any makeup at all, now obviously what does he know. So we both have settled on tinted moisturizers for now but from the last two months MAC hasn’t got my shade and according to the ponds TM review, i think it wont suit my oily skin so will have to find something that gives me the satisfaction of having some base makeup on my face and my Bf the satisfaction of watching my skin rather than a layer of makeup.

Ha ha loving the “now what does he now”. :rotfl: I’m facing the same cribbing from my fiance. I’m going to check the MAC TM out soon… lrt’s hope they have my shade. :idk:

Why don’t you try MAC Studio fix powder foundatiopn? I’ve heard rave reviews about oil control and staying power for that one. :beauty:

I soo know abt the bfs. My bf says I like good without makeup… But the truth is he loves it when I am all dolled up…
See we work together… So after a really tiresome day, he says to me..” Chalo get ready.. We’ll go out”… ?:-)
He never likes if I am looking dull and tired… Me neither… :-) )

Priyanka April 22, 2010 at 1:55 pm

Ki MAC TM is just so pricey im thinking of buying the ponds one (if Palak is using it i guess it will suit me as well) and maybe i’ll go for the mac face and body foundation as it is water based.

And fiancee cribbing.. haha dont ya worry.. he will give up soon..

Priyanka,

Oh my!! I think all men think alike. My hubby keeps saying that you look good without makeup. I only tell him that I look good with makeup as well. :P The coverage is actually very light. They have 6 shades available with them, i am sure you would find one for yourself. And I guess it would suit your skin because this one is water based. The price is Rs 185. Palak also uses Pond’s TM and she has oily skin. Guess you must ask her. I think she sets her makeup with maybelline whitestay.

Rati and Ki, i actually went to the MAC store with my bf ( it was a big mistake though) to buy the foundation but the SA there told me very sweetly ” do you think you need any coverage..?? what do you wanna cover??” and my bf was sheepishly giggling standing there looking at me from the corner of his eyes and saying in his mind,” now the girl will understand what i was trying to put in her head from so long since this is coming from a MUA.”
He told me buy a TM as that would be a good enough base for my skin. And this he said after i was insisting that i need a lil coverage atleast. Otherwise his suggestion was ” sweety dont waste your money and buy yourself a fluidline or a nice dazzleglass, since it will do something to enhance your beauty” And i was like… what?? i want a foundation.. :(

I must ask Palak about the TM.

And my Bf so wants me to get dolled up but he wants me to put the emphasis on my eyes, he just loves the smokey eye thing and he just cant look at me without a kajal (he says i look like i havent eaten from days if i dont use kajal). And he always wants me to put on some gloss but he detests lipsticks ( oh i guess that might be one of the reasons i dont have a single one in my collection). And he even liked the lil dewiness on my face after the application of the TM. He went to 2 MAC stores after that just to check whether they have my shade or not. And he gave his no. to the SA at MAC store ambience mall so they can tell him when it will be available. He is totally with me on makeup, its just the foundation that he is against.

Wow Rati, So you r also for Maxfactor. What foundation did you get ? I mean , is it second skin or natural minerals or liquid illusion ?

Reply

Rati April 21, 2010 at 8:54 pm

I wanted to buy the mineral foundation but gave up on the idea after reading Mrunmayee’s review. :P I have the age renew foundation and it is quite light and nice on skin. :)

Hi Rati, I’m still waiting for my hair to get all dry but so far it feels good.
First I washed out the oil with a lot of water and a basic shampoo from Palmolive.
Then I divided my hair in two and dipped the roots of in the glass of beer.
Then I poured the beer in portions in my whole hair, it smelled like I was in a cafe.
Did some rinsing and put a towel around my hair. I could smell the beer slightly
but I think the smell is gone already. My hair will be completely dry in a couple
more hours so I’ll update you later:)

 yup guys its def ORANGE!
sorry could not write anything on that but
1.its runny in consistency
2.orange , so use for contour or just fresh blush look(not all over)
3. as rati has said, they have 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8 shades
4.only 1 and 2 are fair, rest ARE darkish, so great for all our lovely indian beauties with a dark tone(my observation only)
5. blends well
6.great for oily skin(dont know abt break outs)
7.believe me, the orange is a unique color to own , and so i bought it :-) )
8.great for light concealer

as of late , lakme is acting up a bit but worth a try for 185 rupees :heh:
