Makeup and Fashion Goof up: Santoor Advertisement

Makeup and Fashion Goof up: Santoor Advertisement

Well, this isn’t exactly a makeup or a fashion goof up, but its a goof up nevertheless.  All of us know how Santoor-using mummies don’t look like mom/mummy/mamma/amma to 5-year-old and 6-year-old award-winning, first-rank holding kids.  Till now, whatever new editions of Santoor advertisement I have seen, all the kids were cute little girls and I found nothing wrong in that.

Saw this new video of Santoor commemorating their 25 years, its a cute video, but then I realized that all the kids are girls, there is not even a single boy 😯  Mommies with boys are not eligible to be a Santoor Mommy? Discrimination….okay, I am a drama queen, but this is amusing!

      1. we all notice different things i guess 🙂 and its such a great pass time when you are at airports, restaurants..:)

  1. They dont even look like moms. They look too young to be believed as a mother. But again, all santoor ad models look so.

  2. Hey.. I believe it was part of some campaign to promote girl child. And if you see the latest Johnson add n the Oreo add, they have also taken girl child in their advertisements. i read somewhere that this is to promote girl child in India & to completely eradicate female foeticide.

  3. LOL jomol . . this is one interesting thing you have started 😀 . . . ad goof ups 😀 . . .
hum daughters mummy log hi santoor use kar payengi na . . isiliye aisa dikhaya hoga . . abhi se long term future consumer target kr rha hai

      1. kyunki advertisements ab advertisements ke beech prasarit hone wale programmes se zyada intersting hote ja rhe hain 🙂 🙂 . . me too always watch full break between movies 🙂

  4. I coudn’t have agreed more with you Jomol.. Good observation.. Even if it is to promote the concept of girl child still looks weird..
N I commented on your Loreal facewash post.. No response.. 🙁

  5. LOL..Jomol don’t u worry as I think they assumed the mommies of lil boys wud anyway wud be on their toes all the time and young anyways so they skipped as their product wud have no scope there 😀 😀 😀 😀

      1. Tara……I wish the spank smiley was here……I have would have used it liberally on your comment ….grrrrrrrrrrrr

  6. Not even a single girl in this video is looking as a mom, good one jomol 🙂
Me in Santoor – Boy Mommy Club 🙁 🙁

  7. well I have always noticed that all the diaper, baby oil or any other infant product ads almost always have a male child in it.The mother even says the dialog ‘mere munne ko’ somethng somethng..let some ad be focused on little girls :p

  8. Jomo I have one idea for an ad goofup 😀 not in terms of makeup and beauty but more abt how ridiculous the ‘beauty’ product itself is. Will post soon 😀
Those women are probably not even moms :smug:

  9. i guess what kind of treatment these people undergo to make their hair ad-ready. Almost everybody has similar straight shiny thick hair.

  10. Hahahaha! Good observation! I find it rather dumb that to promote girl children, they have to resort to such tactics. This is just paying lip service and saying, “Sorry, we will keep showing women as evil, scheming, bimbotic, spineless creatures in our TV shows but our ads will have adorable girls and unbelievably hot “mothers”. Hail girl power!” Utter nonsense. Why should little boys have to suffer? Yes, well, I prefer monstrous little boys to well-behaved girls. 😛

Also, man, how did they think that we’d be idiotic enough to believe that all those women were hot mommies? I mean, even if an average Indian girl worked out for 9385 hours every week, she still would not look like THAT after having a kid or two. 😐

  11. Lol. Great observation. It’s probably cos mother’s with naughty lil’ boys start aging sooner as boys are more difficult to handle than girls when they are kids. But girls take over and more than make up by giving extra trouble after hitting their teens. I’m just kidding with this theory. No offence.
