My Experience with Sephora Bronzing Powder-Medium:

Thanks to my familial genes for this lovely chubby cheeks that I have got. People used to pull and play around with it since my childhood. When photographed, you are gone……It look pretty round and full. I always try to angle my face towards camera, to prevent fuller looking cheeks in photos, but fail sometimes. All these struggles made me attracted to the word ‘contouring product’ or ‘sculpting product’.

I have many bronzers and sculpting products, which are always an impulse buy. From my abroad vacation, I bought total four of such product and this bronzer is one of them. Lets’ have a read about it.

packaging

Packaging: It comes in a classic black, glossy, plastic packaging with stylish ‘S’ printed on the top. The lid closes tightly with click sound, which makes it travel friendly. The glossy-finish lid can easily catch finger prints and sometimes look messy. It has a huge mirror, which is very handy while travelling. It has no applicator.

Formula: Bronzing Powder is very finely milled, silky and soft. Not chalky or patchy. It blends seamlessly on the skin without much effort. It is totally matt. Powder is compactly packed in the pan, but still has some fall outs. The powder is well pigmented; all we need is slight swept of brush which makes it last long even if used daily.

Shade: I have the shade medium, which is perfect for, medium skin tone (my skin tone is nc35). The shade is medium brown with enough of warmth in it, perfect shade to bronze up. The shade is perfect to create tan, but it might look slight orangey if we want to use it for contouring. I know bronzers are not meant for contouring, as contouring product has slight ashy undertones (more cooler), which helps mimic natural shadows but this shade may be not suitable for actual contouring. It defiantly slenderizes the face but contouring might sometime looks unnatural.

Finish: It is a matt finish bronzer, which is always welcome for my combination to oily skin. It can be used in day time also as shimmers are sometimes unforgiving in sun light, giving a disco ball appearance. I easily use this during office time also, in combination with blusher as it gives sophisticated warmth.

Application: I use big fluffy brush/kabuki brush to lightly dust the powder to bronze up my face, apply under the cheek bones, temples, below the jaw line and on the neck. This kind of techniques are much helpful specially when I wear medium-full coverage foundation to avoid blank moon-face, as it add life to the face and add dimensions.

Staying Power: With primer and foundation on, it lasts 5-6 hours after which it starts fading.

Fragrance: It is not totally fragrance free. It has some prominent fragrance, if you don’t like your face product to be overly perfumed than this is not for you. The fragrance disappears after application.
