Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Eye Shadow Gold Mine Review

Hey Ladies,

Lately, I have been on a look out for new eyeshadows for my vanity. I was looking for a golden eyeshadow for quite some time as it can be used as a highlighter and be mixed and matched with other colors to create different looks.

While searching on the internet the other day, I came across this Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Eye Shadow in the Shade Gold Mine and I ordered it. Online, the color looks a bright yellow gold. However I was a bit disappointed to look at the final product I received as coppery gold in color.Read below for my experience with the product.

Product Description:

An ultra-smooth, crease and fade resistant eye shadow which promises full coverage while keeping eyelids soft and supple.

Packaging:

The eyeshadow comes in a sturdy plastic square pot packaging with transparent glass lid. The case shuts satisfactorily making this shadow quite handy and portable. Brand name is printed in gold along with lotus logo on the glass lid. Product description,price, quantity, shade name and number is printed in black at the plastic base along with some other information.

The case is covered with a cute cardboard box beige and pink in color.

The eyeshadow is accompanied with a small sponge applicator which actually is of no use owing to its small handler.

Color:

I was actually disappointed with the actual shade as it is not at all bright yellow gold which I was looking for as depicted online. It is rather a dark coppery gold with warm undertones to it. Very fine shimmer particles are milled into it giving it a sheen finish. This color can be used alone as it does not give an over the top look and can also be used as a highlighter in combination with another shades. It will suit all Indian skin tones owing to its warm undertones.

Texture and Pigmentation:

The texture is smooth and soft. It is not at all drying and does not crease on oily lids. There is a very little fallout owing to the presence of fine shimmer. The shade blends easily with the help of fingertip instead of a brush. But I somehow feel that a lot of product sticks to the fingertip and gets wasted instead of getting transferred to the lid.

It is a natural shade and can be worn at day time as well as night time making it a perfect daily use shadow. One swipe gives very mild coverage and needs to be swiped twice or thrice for better coverage. It works very well as a highlighter if blended well.

Staying Power:

It stays for 2-3 hours without the use of a primer. After that it starts fading but would require a nice wash to remove the shimmer particles completely from the lids. It makes my lids a bit oily after 3 hours of application and I like to a wet wipe to clean the traces of shimmer. Usage of primer would increase the lasting power a bit.

• Color is different from what it appears online.
• Poor pigmentation and requires multiple swipes for coverage.
• Low staying power.

Conclusion:

Even though the color is not what I wanted, I still find it nice as it suits me well. I also like the cute packaging.Girls you can give it a try as the price won’t make a hole in your pocket.
