Hello all,
I recently picked up 5 shades from the L’Oréal Color Riche Collection Exclusive. I have already reviewed the shade Julianne’s Red and Eva’s Red. Today I am reviewing the shade – Liya’s Red. Read on to find out more.
Price:
$8.99.
Product Description:
A Red for Every Woman. Pure Matte Color. Velvet soft feel. This red is more than your average lip shade—it’s bold, iconic, curated richness that glides on for a soft matte finish. Apply starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to outer edges of your lips, following the contour of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.
My Experience with L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds – Liya’s Red:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a classy black matte and gold packaging. It has the celebrity ambassador’s signature on it in gold. The packaging has a velvety feel to it which seems quite luxurious.
The cap shuts with a click lock and hence is travel friendly as there is no danger of the cap coming off loose. One con of this velvet case is that it attracts dust.
Shade/Pigmentation: Liya’s Red is a bright fire engine red. It is a very bold color yet does not look garish, but it is surely not a shade which everyone will be comfortable with. I personally would wear this shade occasionally with Indian festive clothes.
The pigmentation on this lipstick is just perfect. It is not too intense but it is still enough to cover the lips in a single swipe.
Texture, Finish, Staying Power: The texture of the lipstick is quite soft and creamy. It glides smoothly on the lips with no tugging at all. It feels quite light on the lips and is very comfortable to wear. The finish of this lipstick is semi-matte with a velvet like finish– it is not the dry flat finish that some of the matte lipsticks have.
It does not dry out the lips and feels quite moisturizing. I would recommend wearing a lip liner to avoid any feathering. I would also recommend exfoliating the lips properly before putting this on as it highlights dry patches otherwise.
The lipstick has the typical vanilla-like fragrance which most L’Oréal lipsticks have. I personally do not mind it at all but some of you might.
The staying power of the lipstick is pretty good and it lasts for about 5-6 hours with light meals. However, since it is not completely matte, it does transfer a lot. It leaves behind a pretty reddish stain on the lips.
Pros of L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds – Liya’s Red:
- Bright fire engine red shade.
- Creamy texture.
- Nice pigmentation.
- Beautiful semi-matte finish.
- Does not dry out the lips.
- Decent staying power – around 5-6 hours.
- Classy packaging.
Cons of L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds – Liya’s Red:
- Strong fragrance (though I personally like it).
- Lip liner is recommended as it tends to feather a bit.
- Velvet case attracts dust.
- This particular shade might not appeal to all.
IMBB Rating:
4/5.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds – Liya’s Red?
I would recommend you to try out if you think you can carry off this shade. The lipstick itself is of a very good quality. I will not repurchase exact same shade; I already have few other shades from this range.
