My Experience with Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick Dusty Mauve:

The lipstick comes in a glossy black and rose gold packaging. The cap is long and black in color. It has the brand’s tagline engraved on it. It has nice rose gold twist-up base that moves smoothly. The cap of the lipstick tube shuts very securely, making a click sound and ensuring that the lipstick packaging is purse-friendly and will not create any mess around.

The brand’s logo is printed on the top of the cap and the neck of the lipstick tube. The packaging is not color-coded, so I need to check the base of the lipstick tube for the shade. The shape of the actual lipstick is typical bullet shape that helps to give easier and precise application. Overall, the packaging looks beautiful and classy.

The shade Dusty Mauve is a true mauve lipstick with neutral undertones. This shade is flattering for fair to medium skin tones. This shade is flattering for a wide variety of Indian skin tones. The shade is subtle and perfect for daytime wear. It can be easily worn to office without a second thought. I don’t own a true mauve shade like this. Most of my mauve lipsticks have pinkish hues.

It is a unique shade. It does not have those strong purple undertones. The dullness in the shade makes it less stark and more wearable. The lipstick does not contain any sheen or shimmers. It sets to a soft velvety matte finish initially and later on it looks perfectly matte on the lips. But, it does not have a powdery matte kind of formulation.

The lipstick is decently pigmented. One swipe gives semi-opaque coverage. Two-three swipes give even and full coverage to the lips. It is capable of covering pigmented lips really well. The color spreads evenly on the lips and does not get patchy. It does not give any streaky finish. There is no significant fragrance in this lipstick.

The texture of this shade is smoother and better than other. Though it causes a little dragging of the lips it is not really drying. It does highlight dry patches of the lips, so it is important to exfoliate and moisturize the lips well for smoother and healthier-looking lips. So, I would highly recommend prepping the lips before application.

The formula is comfortable but not extremely lightweight on the lips. I can feel its presence on my lips but it is not heavy or sticky. The lipstick is smudge-proof to some extent even after meals. The formula does not transfer heavily and there is a minimal transfer of color.

It survives normal sipping and light snacks easily but it fades away after a heavy meal leaving a light stain behind. The lipstick is neither too moisturizing nor drying on the lips. It stays comfortable on my lips and I do not need frequent reapplication of the lip balm. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.

The lipstick lasts for good 6-7 hours on my lips with a little fading. It leaves a light stain behind, which can be taken off easily with a good makeup remover. Overall, this range has an insane number of shades from nudes to bolds, which makes this range worth trying.
