My Experience with The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm:

TBS Amazonion balm is a multi-purpose product as the name suggests and can be used on lips, body, cuticles, and even on tattoos, stretch marks and scars that need soothing and healing. I got this mainly to use it on my post-pregnancy stretch marks.

The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi Purpose Balm open tub

This product comes housed in a beautiful round green plastic tub with a black cap. The design on the cap will look a bit different (something like a colored tattoo) and looks a bit different than what you normally see from The Body Shop. The beautiful artwork on the label was designed by UK-based tattoo artist Saira Hunjan, this design adds a beautiful touch to the packaging.

The balm is off-white in color and has a thick, balmy consistency, feels like hardened Vaseline when you touch it. There is no fragrance in this balm and at first, I was annoyed with this fact, as TBS is know for its beautiful fragrances, but later, upon using, I realized, it is one of the best products from TBS and outshines all fragranced body butters from the brand. The multi-tasking beauty essential contains only nine ingredients all of which are 100% natural and helps to care for a variety of skin issues, like extremely dry skin, cuticles, scars, tattoos and more as I have told you before.

The formula contains a blend of oils and waxes, like community trade organic Babassu Oil from Brazil and Beeswax from Cameroon and it is also enriched with vitamin E. It leaves out any silicones, colourants, mineral oil, paraffin or fragrance, so you can feel good about slathering it even on sensitive skin. TBS gives a portion of each sale to help build bio-bridges and protect endangered species which is just great .

The balm is thick and the rich texture melts into skin in seconds and actually gets absorbed quite nicely, so it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy and it also gives a glowing, more nourished effect on the skin . Initially, I was using it on my stretch marks and I could some difference on their appearance, but since I broke my ankle a month ago, my left leg was covered in bandages till my knee and only left fingers where seen outside and they had become extremely, they literally started flaking and shedding skin. I felt really bad and used oils, body butters, body milks and everything – most products soothed my fingers, but the effects were short lived, and my skin would become dry again.

So one day, I decided to try this balm and OMG, it changed everything. It literally became a saviour for my flaking skin. I had to just apply only a small, pea-sized amount on my fingers at the beginning of the day and then the magic started – dry skin got moisturized, flaking stopped, and my skin started looking nourished, and looked that way for two days.

It was magical and I deeply fell in love with this product. I like how my skin shines and looks a lot healthy when I apply this balm. I use this balm as a body butter, deep moisturizer, lip balm, and even as a moisturizer after a waxing session. I also use it on my stretch marks. It deeply nourishes dry skin and heals like nobody’s business. I don’t know how it works on tattoos but I am pretty sure that it will work.

What more should I say, this is my holy grail now and if you guys want a long-wearing nourishing balm, you can definitely try this product. It will be a boon for dry and sensitive skin beauties.
