Cargo Cosmetics Liquid Foundation Review

Hello all,

Today, I am reviewing my first product from the Cargo Cosmetics brand. I had come across this brand quite a few times during my online shopping sprees but had somehow not purchased anything from it. I recently bought their liquid foundation and here I am reviewing it for you all. So, read on to find out more.

My Experience with Cargo Cosmetics Liquid Foundation:

Packaging: This foundation comes in the most unusual packaging. It comes in a silver grey plastic pouch instead of the more regular bottle or tube packaging that most foundations come in. The pouch looks like an IV drip bag and honestly creeps me out a bit. It has a small nozzle opening which can be used to dispense the foundation. The soft material of the bag actually makes it slightly hard to control how much of the product is being squeezed out. And if you happen to squeeze out more, there is no way to put it back in. I am not overtly impressed by this packaging and would have preferred a more traditional packaging if I am paying 36 dollars for the product.

Shade:  This foundation comes in more than 10 shades and hence it should be possible for everyone to find a shade that suits them. I have the shade F45 (warm/sandy beige/fair with neutral undertones) and this shade does suit my skin tone perfectly after blending out.

Texture/Finish/Coverage/Lasting Power:  The foundation is slightly thin in consistency. It is easy to apply and blends out without much effort.  It feels very lightweight and almost like second skin. The coverage is strictly light. You can build it up slightly without looking cake-y, but it manages to only even out the skin tone. I did not find it useful to cover any blemishes. So, those with any acne scars or other imperfections should strictly stay away from this foundation. But for those who need only a light coverage, this foundation will provide a very natural-looking lovely finish.

On the positive side, the finish is a lovely semi-matte satiny finish. It does not look drying on the skin and does not cling to any dry patches.

This is being advertised as an oil-free foundation and since I have an oily-combination skin, I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, the foundation does need to be set with a powder or else it will rub off your skin.

The lasting power is pretty average. It typically lasts around 5-6 hours.

Overall, for the price that I paid for this foundation, I am not overtly impressed with its performance.

Pros of Cargo Cosmetics Liquid Foundation:

  • Natural-looking finish.
  • Evens out skin tone.
  • Lovely semi-matte finish.
  • Does not look drying.
  • Easily blendable.

Cons of Cargo Cosmetics Liquid Foundation:

  • Very light coverage.
  • Oily skinned beauties will need to set with a powder.
  • Average staying power.
  • Weird packaging.
  • Expensive.

IMBB Rating:
2/5

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Cargo Cosmetics Liquid Foundation?
I will not recommend or repurchase as there are drugstore foundations which perform much better for less.
