About The Product:

My Experience with Chanel Lift Lumière Firming and Smoothing Sunscreen Fluid Makeup
This is my first Makeup item from Chanel. I have used items from their skin care line namely the Chanel Hydra max Active Serum. Chanel foundations are highly raved about in the makeup community. Since I do have dry skin I was mostly leaning towards purchasing the VitaLumiere Aqua but when the opportunity arose to get the Lift Lumiere foundation from Chanel I decided I could give this a try too. And I am very pleased with this product. Let me sum up the review for you in categories.
This Chanel foundation comes in a very simple practical plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. Even though it is very simple it is very elegant looking and pump dispenser makes it very hygienic. The bottle is also very travel friendly with a cap that is very secure to prevent accidental leaking.
I am a Mac NW23 shade and have pink undertones. I generally do not like foundations with yellow undertones as they make me look flat and sick. The only 2 shades in this foundation which suitable for my skin tone and undertone were Soft Bisque and Natural Beige. When I tried this foundation in store they did not have Soft bisque available so after trying out Natural Beige on my face I determined it is an almost good match for my skin.
This shade has a very pinkish look to it but it somehow works with my skin tone. Though it is slightly darker that what I wanted it still looks really good on me as it gives me that amazing Sun-kissed pink glow on my face since us Indians don’t really tan much. Hence this shade will be perfect for me in summer.
They have a total of 8 shade to choose. Ivorire and Clair will work great for very fair/ pale skin. Cendre and Beige will work great for us Indians who have yellow undertones. Soft Bisque and Natural beige will work for people with pink undertones. And if you are dusky u will find your match in either Naturel or Tawny beige.
The consistency of the foundation is slightly on the runnier side which makes it spread evenly on the skin. Blending the foundation into the skin is very quick and easy and I use my trusted Beauty blender sponge to apply this foundation but you can even use a regular flat foundation brush or stippling brush it will still apply seamlessly. Foundation applies evenly and does not show any visible streaking.
Finish/Coverage: This foundation is described to be “medium to full coverage”. I have overall good skin and do not suffer from a lot of imperfections to hide so I generally do not like to cake up my foundation. I found out this foundation can also be applied in very minimal quantity to give a sheer coverage which is enough to cover most of my slight imperfection on my skin and it still looks very natural and flawless. But it can defiantly be built up to provide heavier coverage if you wish. As you can see in the blended swatch pic in which I have applied it very heavily yet it looks incredible natural and does not look caky at all.
The finish of this product on the skin is somewhat Luminous. It not shiny enough to look dewy neither it is completely matte. I really love foundations with this sort of finish because it makes your face look like it has a natural glow to it. It did not stick to dry patches nor accentuated pores on my face instead my skin actually looked incredibly hydrated and healthy with this foundation on. I cannot support the claim of it reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine line since I do not yet suffer from those.
This foundation stayed looking fresh on my skin for about 6 hours. It did not crease or fade but by the end of the day my skin did start to look very shiny and greasy around my chin and cheeks which never happens with any foundation. Though a little blotting took care of that issue for me I think that this may cause a bigger issue for those of you with oily skin.
This foundation has a very mild floral sweet fragrance which is not really noticeable or overpowering when the foundation is applied on the face.
Overall very pleased with this product. Will definitely recommend to dry skin people, for oily skin this may work for you too but I advise you to be cautious and if possible look into the other category of the Mat Lumiere foundations from Chanel.
