If you saw my cute little story behind these lippies from the new range, then you would know I got some more, I am never happy with one, an since there is no pop-up store in Chennai, Colorbar has tiny counters which do not have these matte touch lippies at the moment, so I had to get more than one.
I really think these are better take on velvet mattes, the packaging is better, the colors are better keeping cinnamon shade in mind, I dont think the texture has improved at all. Well I will tell you how.
I am honestly a little disappointed by this shade, when I tried it on, my first impression was that it is hard, I have used a lot of lipsticks in my life to know that matte lippies dont need to be dry or hard. I found the lipstick hard exactly like the velvet matte ones, the velvet mattes stain a lot, these do not, this is an improvisation on the staining part, but if you see, the lipsticks should not stain in any case, none of my lipsticks other than the the velvet mattes stain.
Coming to the color , it is a beautiful orange coral pink mix kind of a shade,it is very very pigmented no doubt but you will feel the need to swipe and press it harder over your lips because of its texture.Im happy with the color anyways.
The lipstick feels dry! Yes though the finish might not look like a powder matte, the feel is dry and matte and it could feel heavy too in more than one swipe. I did not like the fact that it made my lips feel dry, so if you already have dry lips, avoid it.It is not a moisturizing lipstick at all!You could use a gloss but then why would a wear a matte lippy anyway if you have to make it glossy later?
The staying power is impressive! I would say it lasts for 4-5 hours, and the hint of the color stays on another two hours, it could get dry and patchy so check it after meals. I think it stains a bit, but not in hot pink, it stains in the same color.
I honestly think SHY CHERRY, PEACH CRUSH, PRETTY PLEASE, this shade, and the one in matte touch I reviewed FEELINGS all fall in the same category honestly, they all are either a tone or two light or dark, and the texture is similar too. I find the shade feelings much softer than cinnamon, I dont know I have to check the others as well. But cinnamon is definitely not a smooth matte.
I will do a comparison post on the above mentioned colors and shades soon, I think if you own any of the above, one is enough. On a really polite note, when the prices are hiked to 500, dont you think the formula should get better too? Like the Chambor Rouge plump, the formula is like butter since they cost you 745, but in this case, the feel is exactly like the velvet mattes that cost you 225/250 and these cost you 500!! Food for thought.
3/5 (good shade and packaging, feels dry and hard) The shade Feelings is softer than this one.
