Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick in Citrine

Hello lovely ladies..
Today I am going to review a gorgeous orange lipstick by Colorbar. I was in two minds whether to purchase Obsessed Orange from Velvet Matte range or the Citrine one from the Soft Touch range but when i swatched I thought Citrine would suit me more hence I decided to go for it.

My take on Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick in Citrine

Packaging:
The lipstick comes in metallic silver case with a cap same as that of the body. The packaging is quite sturdy and the cap too stays intact and doesn’t fall off. So it is indeed very travel friendly.

Texture:
This lipstick is quite creamy as compared to the peach crush lipstick from the velvet matte range that I reviewed earlier.It is creamy and but doesn’t moisturize lips and hence for dry lips a lip balm underneath is a must. It doesn’t accentuate or settle in the fine lines of my lips. They do not look cakey at all.

Color:
It is a bright orange color little neonish with a tinge of red. It brightens up my face instantly. So if you are in hurry and don’t have time to apply much of makeup just eye pencil and this lipstick is enough to make you look gorgeous. The best part is that it will suit almost all Indian skin tones.
I am not sure if one can carry off this color on simple Indian costumes like kurtis though nevertheless it all depends on person to person.

It is well pigmented and provides full coverage to the lips, 2 swipes would give you the actual color t . I would say great for pigmented lips.

(the swatch on the website looks quite dull though. It’s best to swatch the lipsticks in person than depend on the swatches available on the website as they are quite misleading.

Staying Power:
I’d say close to 4 hours with lip balm underneath without eating or drinking. It didn’t survive a full meal.I could only see a tinge after having a full meal. Also it fades unevenly after having meal. They do transfer easily so you may want to keep a tissue handy.

Outlining lips with a lip pencil in similar color before applying this lipstick helps in defining the and doesn’t allow the lipstick to bleed. So I noticed that the lipstick looks and stays much better if you outline your lips with a lip pencil.

    1. Indrani I cannot comment much on obsessed orange as I haven’t tried it but I think Velvet matte lipsticks stay on for long time. I have one in peach crush.
