I love fragrant hand creams especially when they smell like food! I had tried Essence 24h Hand Protection Balm Banana Dark Chocolate. I spotted one more and immediately picked it, but unfortunately the price had been raised! Sob sob! Anyway, read on to know more about it.

What the company claims:
Kiwi dream… the aromatic, exotic fragrance of fresh kiwis and dark chocolate perfectly rounds off your hand care ritual and already spreads a feeling of winter cheer upon application. Rich shea butter and valuable coconut oil give stressed, dry skin much needed moisture and makes them feel wonderfully protected for up to 24 hours.

My Experience with Essence 24h Hand Protection Balm – Kiwi Dark Chocolate:
A good hand cream is always a necessity for me, I have been a crazy hand cream collecting lady nowadays and you can see that in my reviews. I swear by Atrix hand creams. Anyway, I had very good experience with Banana dark chocolate and when I saw Kiwi, I couldn’t resist myself.
The product comes in a white and a green shaded tube and a green flip cap resembling the color of kiwi. The product is thick, creamy and white in color. The packaging is very sturdy and travel friendly. The fragrance is delicious but I loved the banana one better. The smell is more of chocolate and the fragrance lingers around a long time. The product gets easily absorbed onto the skin and leaves a hydrated look on the hands. I prefer that the hand creams give me a moisturized effect on the hands but this one gives more of a matte look after applied. It does have shea butter and coconut oil for added benefits.
However, the 24-hour claim is false; the cream doesn’t even stay hardly for 2 hours and needs reapplication. There is no long term use I gained from the product. The hands look fresh and hydrated when applied and it fades away. Another thing I didn’t like about the product is that it forms solid clumps near the nozzle and I have to keep cleaning it. Never had this issue with the banana chocolate version. I guess they changed something that it is not as good as the old one. Even though it does moisturize my hands for some time I am not happy with the product and I hardly use it now.

• Provides moisturization and hydrates when applied.
• Easily absorbed by the skin.
• Gives a matte look and doesn’t leave residue on the skin.
Cons of Essence 24h Hand Protection Balm – Kiwi Dark Chocolate:
• The moisturization fades quickly and cream has to be reapplied.
• Forms solid clumps on the nozzle if there is any product remaining making it look messy.
• Not worth the price paid.
