My Experience with Essence the Gel Nail Polish Base Coat:
This comes in a nice bottle that is not see-through (for a change). The feel of the polish is very thick. Yes, it seems very gel like, very thick and it could get tacky. You have to make sure you get a nice even layer on the nails, otherwise it will be thick and will take a while to dry. If you have a gloopy application, then there will not be an effective base.
Use a thin even layer, it will take a minute to dry, but will definitely add a nice thick layer on the nails, which will add to the plumping effect of the polish you apply further. This could be used like a top coat too since it is slightly similar to the gel top coat, but Essence but top coat has more shine.
This product does not have shine, but it adds a nice dimension to nails. If you want to achieve “plump nail effect,” try this base coat as the first step.

Would I Repurchase Essence the Gel Nail Polish Base Coat?
Yes, for sure, since this is a notch above your regular base coat. Use it along with the Essence gel top coat. I am happy with the product since it makes my nails appear plump.
