How are you doing today? I am still recovering from the long and tiring trip, though I feel so content whenever I think about those memorable 5 days of my life. I feel we all should plan trips once or twice a year, it really helps to make life easier and worth living with the kind of stress and tension we go through. I am also here to review one of my dream purchases, which didn’t impress me too much, but a Guerlain is after all a Guerlain, they say! I have tried a few products from Guerlain and they all have worked well for me, however, the lip balm seems to be a little over hyped. Nevertheless, some people out there might love to own this beauty. So, let’s go directly to the review of Guerlain Kiss Kiss Roselip Crazy Bouquet now 🙂
$37 for 0.09 Oz, price excludes shipping and taxes.
Rose Oil Extract: Hydrates lips for a smooth, plumping effect.
A hydrating and plumping tinted lip balm. This Fall, Guerlain introduces Bloom of Rose, an unexpected, versatile, and ultra-feminine lip collection. Inspired by the natural beauty of the rose, the KissKiss Roselip offers the season’s must-have hues—from charming red to romantic pink shades. Each lip formula is enriched with rose oil extract to hydrate and plump lips, and the balmy texture of this lipstick leaves lips with a light and delicate look. This hydrating and plumping, tinted balm is encased in an irresistible white lacquer case, so that it’s the ultimate fashion accessory.
My Experience with Guerlain Crazy Bouquet Kiss Kiss Roselip:
Well, Guerlain did it again by putting tinted lip balms in a curvy white bullet packaging which resembles their Guerlain Kiss Kiss lipstick packaging. I can smell that signature floral sweet signature Guerlain scent from the balm, it lingers on the lips for a few good hours. Overall, I find it to be quite an attractive, price worthy and travel-friendly packaging.
Talking about the shade “Crazy Bouquet,” it is described as a delicious red tinted lip balm while I think it’s a coral-mixed-red with sheer tint on my lips. Usually coral pink/reds are not my colors since they simply don’t work for my skin tone, but this shade seems fine for my pale skin tone. It gives a sheer coral red tint on the lips with high glossy shine like any other sheer lip color. I mean it is a sheer glossy balm which gives almost a translucent finish on the lips yet the coral red hue is well visible on the lips. I won’t recommend it to beauties with pigmented lips though.
I also like its glossy juicy texture which gives perfect juicy soft finish on the lips though I miss the deep hydrating effect of a typical lip balm. Yes gals, it moderately hydrates my lips for a few hours, say 3-4 hours and I feel the need to reapply the lip balm within 3 hours.
It’s not as if it makes my lips dry, but I feel my lips going slightly dry after a while as it tends to fade quickly, and is almost ineffective on dry lips, to be honest.
The tint and glossy hue stays for 3-4 hours overall, thereby leaving lips in original condition. It won’t exaggerate or accentuate dry lips. I also noticed that the texture and formula is forgiving on mild dry lips as it does not sit on top of my dry patches or settle into the fine lines, but it might be tricky for parched lips.
Considering my normal dry lips, I find this lip balm works fine as it imparts decent hydration with a juicy tint, just apt for summer makeover, but I would advice some of you out there with dry lips to skip it as it does not heal cracked or dry lips. I don’t think it can replace traditional lip balms in any sense and I see it as another beauty product for people who usually shy away from wearing deep lip colors.
However, people like me, who need medium coverage and intense pigmentation (also something that provides mild hydration), would certainly feel disappointed. Hence I will recommend it to beauties with naturally soft lips who are willing to try this new tinted collection, else you won’t be missing much if you skip it. I don’t think I will get it again.
Let’s sum up the pros and cons:
Pros of Guerlain Crazy Bouquet Kiss Kiss Roselip:
- A lightweight glossy lip balm with sheer coral-red shimmer-free tint.
- Perfect juicy and glossy finish on the lips with sheer color payoff.
- Provides decent hydration for 3-4 hours.
- Does not accentuate dryness or aggravate other lip issues.
- Does not sit on top of lip patches, does not settle into fine lip lines.
- Stays on for 3-4 hours.
- Quite an attractive and travel-friendly packaging.
Cons of Guerlain Crazy Bouquet Kiss Kiss Roselip:
- Cannot replace traditional lip balms.
- Tricky for dry and parched lips.
- Not recommended for beauties with pigmented lips.
- Even though I have normal dry lips, I still felt the need for reapplication lip balm every 2-3 hours that too in current dry-hot weather conditions.
- Does not treat or work on dry patches irrespective of using once or multiple times in a day.
- Considering its average benefits, it seems expensive.
Well, I simply feel that these lip balms are over hyped and way too expensive. I am not impressed with these products sadly and might skip them in my future purchases.
I rate them 2.8/5!
