I have come today with the review of a product that claims to control sebum production, absorb deep seated impurities and help reduce pore size. Seems like an Angels’ Blessing, no? : P The product in question is the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. Let’s see how this highly acclaimed product has actually fared for me.
Price: Rs. 950 for 100ml
6-in-1 Pore Care
Contract Pores + Controls sebum + Exfoliate + Deep Cleanse + Brighten Tone + Cooling
Jeju volcanic clay is made with the Jeju volcanic mineral from the explosion of Jeju volcano. It’s an alkalescency resource, categorized as a preserved resource, and is effective in removing sebum and other impurities. It caused strong removal of sebum through the Super Volcanic Capsule
As the capsule bursts, its exfoliates any dead skin cells. AHA element helps chemical exfoliation and smoothes out the skin. Strong absorption of sebum and cooling effect of the clay refreshes the skin and contracts pores.
Ingredients: Sadly my product packaging has a price sticker bang on top of the ingredients list. Still I have tried to capture most of them for you ladies.
My Experience with Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask:
It comes in a sturdy tub packaging which looks quite nice. Unfortunately what’s written on it is completely illegible to me as it’s written in Korean. I really wish there were English directions on how to use, detailed benefits, ingredients etc.
Anyhow, something’s got to give. The packaging is quite compact and travel-friendly. Although I wish they had given a spatula to scoop out the product.
Now I will come to the part that I literally despise about this product. Its consistency is just so thick like dried mud!! It is extremely difficult to take out (I literally have to use a sharp spoon). It is very vrerrry difficult to make a paste out of it, which takes a good five minutes of vigorous mixing The mask itself gives an instant cooling sensation, even after 15 minutes, it does not become, you know, dried out…and does not crack like other clay masks. That’s a really good thing as it would not cause wrinkles or over-stretch the skin. After cleansing my skin feels soft and mattified.I t does not dry out my skin much, but after a clay mask moisturizer is always recommended.
The Innisfree pore clay mask claims to refine pores by adsorbing deep seated impurities. So I was expecting that it’s going to literally detox my skin. Although it has not been a miracle worker, I still feel it has been one of the best clay masks I have ever used.
Pros of Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask:
- A very good clay mask
- Does not stretch or dry skin out
- Gives a cooling sensation
- Reasonable price
- Large quantity that would last for a long time
- Free from harsh chemicals
- Cruelty free
Cons of Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask:
- It’s very difficult to work with.
- Availability is an issue.
IMBB Rating: 3.8/5
Final Verdict on Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask:
It’s a nice product albeit Difficult to work with. I would not repurchase as I like trying out new masks 😛
