Jason Revitalizing Vitamin E 5000 I.U. Moisturizing Crème
I got this crème when my facial skin was really dry, flaky, and badly in need of brightening. I saw this with its 5000 IU of Vitamin E, which seems like a lot, and I’ve read about the positive effects of Vitamin E on the skin, so I thought, why not?
I’m familiar with Jason products, which uses natural, organic ingredients. I tend to gravitate to brands like these (Andalou Naturals, Alba Botanica, etc.) because in my experience they are generally gentler on the skin. This crème also has an affordable price tag for a generous 4 oz of product.

This is in a plastic tub with a screw-on lid. On the packaging it says that it can be used on both the face and the body.If used solely on facial skin it’ll take forever to finish up, so I use it on my hands and arms as well. At first I used a small plastic spatula but when I got halfway through the pot I didn’t care anymore and just used my fingers.
This is some greasy stuff, I’ll tell you that straightaway. I have no problem with it on my hands and shoulders, but on the face? It’s just too heavy for daily use and definitely has a greasy feel to it. Even in cooler weather I still found it a little too slick. I think it would be okay for winter, as a night cream.
Due to the slick texture of it, it leaves the skin dewy after application. I find that the dewiness doesn’t really fade and in warm weather it makes my skin—which is very much on the dry side—oily! Not a good moisturizer to use under makeup because it makes my foundation and concealer slip off my face more easily, making me look a mess towards the afternoon.
It does moisturize my dry skin well though, and thankfully does not break me out. It reduces flakiness on my skin, makes it feel smoother, lessens that tight feeling due to dryness, but doesn’t have any brightening effect. I’m after healthy, even, glowing skin…but what this makes me is shiny.
This is moderately-scented and its smell reminds me of facial oils. Looking at the ingredients list, I see Sunflower Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, and more, so, that’s why. That should also explain the greasy feel of the crème. Anyway the scent doesn’t bother me and it goes away after a few minutes.
Pros of Jason Revitalizing Vitamin E 5000 I.U. Moisturizing Crème
• Contains a lot of product (4 oz).
• It’s affordable.
• It’s moisturizing on both the face and body.
• It’s gentle and doesn’t give me pimples.
• Its scent is alright and fades quickly.
Cons of Jason Revitalizing Vitamin E 5000 I.U. Moisturizing Crème
• It feels greasy.
• It’s too heavy for a daily moisturizer.
• When used under makeup it tends to make my foundation, concealer, and even blush melt away more easily.
Would I repurchase Jason Revitalizing Vitamin E 5000 I.U. Moisturizing Crème?
No. It’s currently in my use-it-up pile, actually. I just want to finish it up, and I almost have, as seen in one of the photos. I’m using it now as a hand cream, mostly.
IMBB Rating: 2/5
Overall:
The Jason Revitalizing Vitamin E 5000 IU Moisturizing Crème might be good to try if you have very dry or dehydrated facial skin. It effectively moisturizes and it’s gentle to the skin. However, due to its heavy feel, it’s just too much for daily use. I think it’s better to use as a night cream some nights in a week. I would advise against using this on oily skin, in warm climates, and if you don’t like a heavy or greasy feel to your moisturizer.
